I had this exact model. Don't care about adapters or touch bar. For me, this ran terribly slow. Even with something simple as a 10-tab Chrome instance alongside a native word processor and a simple IDE such as Sublime or Code, this model ran hot and loud and the color wheel was a constant. It now sits quiet and cool on my shelf as I was forced to upgrade. My 2014 13" variant MBP ran smooth and cool alongside this one and it only has 128GB SSD. So, I still use the 2014 13" when on the move. Sucked when Apple dropped the quad-code.

I agree with all the points you made in this video. I have the 2017 Non Touchbar MBP with the core i7 and I love it. The TB MBP is shitty for productive users. No one really needs the gimmick bar. Apple really needs to give consumers a choice of keyboards. @scottscage64093 жыл бұрын
Let me just say that 128gb is fine for someone who doesnt plan to fill the machine up with stuff which would take up all that space; if you are someone like myself who just wants to use it to write - and keep backups of your material on external portable storage like flash drives anyway (because lets face it even the best apple products can fail - or what if it gets lost or stolen), or keep a few thousand songs in your itunes music library - which might take just about up to 20gb, maybe keep one or two games and movies that you really love, and the rest of your basic usage is internet, social media, maybe streaming stuff - then this will be perfect for you. I am not a gamer editor or programmer so I dont worry about that. I realize there are folks who do a lot of those other tasks and need space to keep files, in which case most likely 256 or even 512gb is better for them. Also I have one major question: how does this device hold up, generally speaking regarding overall performance, in 2021? Is it still worth getting now?

Is this or the surface book 1 better? For 1080 videos editing and lite gaming?

just purchased the 256g version....is this one good enough to run logic pro? or Reason 10?

Even though the CPU on this thing is slower than the 2020 MBA...it’s still faster thanks to better cooling.

I’m picking up a used 2017 pro it’s 3.1 ghz 8gb ram and 256gb ssd (Touch Bar)i was kinda scared bout it but has better specs then the 2018 so hopefully everything works good 😩 MacBook pros last a long time right? Like I’ll be able to use it for a couple years?

Like all things Apple. Maintenance culture matters. As long as you use it well... you should be fine. Also... as long as no preexisting issues from old owner.

Kagan thanks for the replyyyy and yea I saw pictures and everything and he took really good care of it and only used it for a year for school work and the rest was just for like watching Netflix and everything and the battery cycle count is only at 108 so there’s no issues I think 😂

@@kimfadavi8714 do you have an update on how the computers working now ? (:
@kimfadavi87143 жыл бұрын
@@Suhlesste amazing almost a year w it and is still great, make sure the specs are 3.1 ghz not the normal base 1.2 or whatever. make sure it has a good amount of storage (less storage the more slow it will get) but other then that really good. it looks exactly like the newer models so it doesnt look dated like older MacBook airs n pros obviously.if ur thinking bout it try to find a 2017 model. I ABUSE TF outta the Touch Bar cuz of how fun it is and it still works perfectly

What do you think of the front-facing camera? Is it clear?
@KaganTech4 жыл бұрын
It's the same camera that has been on MacBooks for 10 years. Nothing changed. It's useable but not great.
