Zombies and loot respawn every 7 days. It was changed a few alpha ago to make loot respawn at the same time as zombies. I've noticed that most containers now turn into non lootable blocks in 1.0, which makes looting respawned places much less useful. All the zombies for less loot.

The main problem I see with loot respawn being at 30 days is that it takes FOUR horde nights for anything to respawn. It might as well be disabled at that point since you WILL run out of close places to loot and get forced farther and farther out with worse gear. And the fact that quests respawn loot as well, which lets you cheat that timer. If I ever get to play it some more, I am just yeeting the quests as an option and yeeting horde nights since I don't think the full night horde is a good idea since it forces newbies to either have to learn real quick(and do a crap job) or just turn them off fully(which is what most new players will probably do).

All the newer models don't respawn anything. If it has an open animation, then nothing will respawn in it, but the older models that don't have an open animation do have things respawn in them. So the fridges, ovens, letter boxes, safes and dishwashers don't reset like they are meant to, the kitchen cupboards, supply/loot boxes, old style book cases and vehicles do have things respawn in them.

Adding mods are not worth it till tier 3 blue (tier 2 blue is only a minor price jump) so for like pickaxes the iron is very minor, but the blue steel pickaxe is a few hundred more with 4 mods. I turn Loot respawn off so I have to move areas to loot more non quest places.

Kage, I am really late today, but you were asking a lot of the right questions as far as finding the magazines. Put another point in Grease Monkey. Even if it's too late by now, when you see this, it won't be too late for the 4x4. Have an extra point or two in Luck Looter. This helps finding everything. Gas Stations, Mechanics, Car Sales Lots are all good places to look. At these places check EVERYTHING. Even the trash has a chance of a magazine. Take it from a Loot Goblin. Not bird's nests, because f'those 🙃. Cars along the roads between cities and settlements also have a greater chance of having the magazines than cars in the cities and settlements I have noticed. It could be different in other games, but I cleared out between my main settlement and a city and was able to get my motorcycle and made a decent dent toward the 4x4. Cars in town will still have them, same with mailboxes, newsstands, etc., and Crack-A-Book, but remember, just like all other random loot drops you will get whatever has the higher concentration in skill points that is not completed. Hope this helps. And I hope, after being with doctors all day (all good!) that I've remembered everything.

The chunk reset feature has been bugged since it was introduced. At least for me and a lot of other people it has, maybe not everyone. I've tried disabling it, I've tried setting it to the maximum of 100 days, but I still get chunks instantly resetting randomly. Not a huge issue for me because I always build within land claim range, but it means I have to reserve a land claim if I want to keep a mine active, which sucks. I like to keep my spare land claims for forward operating bases.

When you put mods into gear, it has always been largely dependent on the tier of the item you put the mod into. In previous alphas, the best thing was to put the mods into unwanted tier 6 gear, but now that tier 6 is crafted (i don't think anything drops tier 6 anymore in 1.0) the best tier to put mods into is tier 5. This doesn't make you a ton of extra money (seems slightly nerfed now), but then again putting mods into tier 5 in previous alphas didn't either. Typically, I scrap tier 1-2, i just sell tier 3-4, and I repair and put mods into only tier 5 or tier 6 if i end up with any extra tier 6 stuff. Also, if you like the checkpoint POIs, I think you would really like the new stadium POI that is setup to be a "field hospital" type of place, especially if it is the infested version. It's quite challenging with a ton of large spawns and difficult zeds, tons of dead bodies/morgue bags to get tons of bones (for glue), animal fat (for cooking), and rotting flesh (for either farming plots or crafting into Cans of Sham.. which has a new easier recipe).

I have been seeing stuff respawn in POI. I did turn on block respawn or whatever it was. This made it so the cars in those POI do respawn and the magazine boxes, but not mailboxes. I have only seen mailboxes respawn when you trigger an mission there. I am not sure but even some cars on the road will respawn (or be searchable again. I am slowly catching up to you... just it is getting so grindy. I too need the crucible you just got. I was out of Dukes though. I having been scrapping cars and everything. Brass has been a big seller at about half a Duke each and I get a ton of it. I am running a bow stealth build and just do not use the brass. I have tons of ammo for backup right now. I am going to start selling some of it likely. I have been getting VERY lucky on Legendary components (8 so far). I am rocking a legendary compound bow and only need 2 more soon it will be a legendary compound crossbow. I would have all Legendary Assassin's armor if I had the steel... and maybe a few more sewing kits. I'm doing tier 3 stuff and half of it is in the wasteland. I accidently did one at night too. That was brutal. The end horde was all radiated and feral. Luckily half them fell off the building, but then they were a pain to find, but then I could sneak attack them. My stealth is so good I can get multiple sneak attacks on a target. I like hunting bears too as their testosterones is worth a lot. Update... I got the money but now none of the venders have the crucible. I need that steal for my armor mostly. It takes 25 steel EACH. I have 1 done. I also wish you could do more than one of the same mode in an armor piece. I have a strength, fortitude, and agility mod as well as a cigar, but I have a head lamp I never use, and better fitting. I think I have the double pouch mod unlocked now. I have to look into what that takes.

You CAN use the strength mod with a cigar. You can't combine it with the treasure hunter mod, though.

you should do lower tier quests for magazine boxes, the lower tier 2-3 buried supplies are the best for those i have personally found

Repairing stuff to sell is really not worth sacrificing the repair kit. Cloth is much harder to come by in 1.0 and you need it to make the duct tape to make the repair kit.

Tell that to my stacks of cloth. I don't understand how people can be short on cloth. Don't you break curtains with a knife? Harvest cotton? Farm cotton? Wrench every bed? Break trash on the ground? It's water that's always too short for me, though I've for the first time ever ran short on bones.

Most of your books comes from Machine Guns, Advanced Engineering and Miner 69er, plus points in attributes. Looks like the game is giving you what you put the most points in. And Bart's is not a car place.

lol wrenching hell... you need that poi for all that cloth on those tents... youll need it later on lol cloth is the new gold... with the dew collector and bones... water and glue is cake to stack.. its the cloth man the cloth lol

After a little testing, I only put mods into sell items when they are tier 3 items and blue/purple. It should be better than selling both things separately...but I'm unwilling to do the Math anymore.

Kage, I wouldn't pass up the trash. Yes, the majority of the time it is trash. But every now and then you get something good. Why do you leave all those fugazzi bodies lying around? They're a great source of bones. you where harvesting dead dogs and there were a couple bodies just lying there. One hit and they're bones in your inventory.

I know that quality 5 or blue items are a good quality level but having them sold at the trader is fine to me as they're still not max level items. If they started selling quality 6 items I'd say it's not great as those are your total end-game items and you should work to find them. If you still only have quality 5 items in-hand, you still need to grind out all the parts to craft a quality 6 like armor parts, weapon parts, or legendary parts. Just like waiting for that magical one special book to appear, it can take a LONG time before you get what you need to make the thing you want. Maybe if they stopped at selling tier 4 guns and armor but sold more parts it would be better or like you said, a price increase wouldn't hurt to avoid the traders being OP.

Why even mention the pump shotgun when you arent even specced into it? Its just going to be trash compared to a machine gun that just kills zombies quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if they nerfed the machine gun given how broken it is. Why even bother with the other guns when the machine gun does their job ten times better anyway? Its why I refused to use it when I played the game myself. Just too damn strong imo.
