What’s up guys and gals, I’m Kage848. I love to make videos for KZbin, mostly early access survival games like 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, Raft, Mist Survival, The Forest, and more! ​@dba4292 until dawn is the best way to put it but yeah.. hordes are always all night.. you have your actual horde, then when it finishes (about midnight in this video) then it goes to trickle waves of smaller waves until your game stage is high enough for the real horde to last all night

Cross shape is your new best friend. Blocks spit and it is fully able to melee through. Plus easy molotov and grenades through it.

If you place them with the open side of the frame towards you the can’t climb it. Neither can you. But then you can’t double up the layers.

Nice compare and contrast... Kage848 - "It's 2 hours before the horde, I'm not going to change my kill zone." JaWoodle - "It's 2 hours before the horde, I should start making a horde base now." I prefer Kage's approach, more instructional than slapstick.

the thing is, when you understand zombie mechanics and how they path you can build a horde base pretty quick, especially for day 7 to 14. by day 21 you generally need a bit of strategy but most of that involves a narrow fighting position where you can drop zombies when needed for repairs. using doors or hatches on their side as the floor for the fighting position is a great way to control flow

TFP did say on dev stream that they made it so horde night would go all night long. I think going for Advanced Engineering was not the right call. Traders sell traps pretty often, and cheap enough. They also sell generator and battery banks, though not as often, and you also need a wire tool which I don't recall seeing them sell. The last two are the real clinchers, but if you just check the traders in the connecting cities you should easily get what you need.

Big recommendation for the horde base. Get some robosledges and set them on the railing for the stairs, take out the wall next to the stairs, and push the zombies into a spike pit. Then, later on, you can upgrade the spike pit into a bonified kill zone with other traps. Even a platform over it to drop bombs/molotovs on.

Turn the second level 90 degrees. It should make it easier to swing without hitting the bars.

they are more climbing each other than climbing the actual blocks. also remember to tweak the coding so Loot Bags do not despawn. handy on horde night when you can't get to them to pick up.

Hey kage if you are going to do 120 min horde nights i would get a mod that extends the time loot bags stay in game before they despawn you might have lost a few to despawn especially the ones that drop right at the beginning. Also horde nights do last all night now they happen in waves the first wave is the biggest then you get a small break then it is wave after wave of smaller waves if your dps is high enough you can clear them out and have a breather before the next but if not it just seems like it is never ending. I hope this helps if you haven't already figured this out by now lol.

hi kage . you need chemical station. so you can make petrol from oil shale. trader jennie and bob is far distance away from trader rex your starting base. the mini bike use lots of petrol between them if you get an mini bike.

I've made 1 of my favorite hoard bases there. It's really easy to set up fighting positions, break out the long section to have a tightrope area to funnel the zombies. Good stuff

I think the reason they are climbing your ladder is because you doubled up on them. they can climb from the inside block. when you go to place the scaffolding ladder, it's on an edge of a square and inside the square is climbable, the outside of the square isn't. The sideways is to make it easier to hit the head, but you are also on stairs not on a flat surface so the placement is a bit off.

could put some flat plates in front of the bars so you have their heads in the knockout zone while forcing them to stop and jump up right before the iron bars. maybe a skinny pillar in the middle section along the top or bottom instead of iron bars would make it easier to smack zombies with a club.

I'm doing a Spear build. It is my first time going with spears and so far so good. Once you get the books and at least a green iron spear things get pretty good. Normally I would go with clubs or knifes.

Early observations on the 1.0 beta: - The level-1 version of any weapon is almost always better than the level-6 version of the previous tier, e.g., a level-1 AK is better than a level-6 pipe machine gun. Same for melee weapons - the crappiest iron club and spear will be better than the best wooden club and stone spear. - Tap Y and do as much as you can as quickly as you can, and visit the trader after completing _AND REDEEMING_ all of the completed (green icon) quests for a given row to receive an extra XP and loot bonus. - You're going to need leather early on. Bone-shiv every zombie dog/bear/pig/etc. you kill as well as food animals. - Wooden spike traps are _devastating_ for the first few horde nights, as long as you have enough of them. Five rows deep around a horde base will kill most zombies before they even reach the base's walls and will last through the entire horde. - Now that Sexual Tyranosaurus is gone, stamina will eat your lunch until you spec into things. It's vitally important, critical even, to spec into weapons and armor as early as practical to reduce stamina losses. - The best armor overall is a mix-and-match of pieces to suit play style and situation. Set bonuses have pretty narrow use cases, such as wearing the full scavenger set only for loot runs as it's not really as suited toward combat as a carefully chosen collection of pieces from multiple sets. - Wooden storage chests are quick and easy to make but only give you 48 storage slots. Iron chests are more expensive but add 16 slots.

I usually spend my horde nights on top of some building. I put ladder so they can climb up and then I made a floor with doors and when things get dangerous I open the doors and they fall down. This way I can control the zeds while I kill them.

Earlier today I found out the hard way that even on day 7 the horde goes all night now! Before it would be over by midnight at the latest. I ran out of ammo and wore my bat down and barely survived...lol

KAGE.......I was paying attention to the loot bags and the Horde lasted SO LONG that at Least HALF of them Despawned !!!!! Looking like upgrading to Steel may be your Best option for future Horde nights !!!

A few things. You're not having trouble climbing a ladder you have to jump to? I found it almost impossible. Does it seem like you were hitting the barrier ladders a lot more than before? I was using a spear and hitting it just as much even though I was poking nowhere near the bars. I think with the exception of some of them clipping into the wall they don't climb those ladders. It was all a function of them climbing each other. And yeah... horde night goes all night. I'm on really easy settings and they just kept coming till 4:00AM. I'm hoping jumping on ladders and their hit boxes are a bug that they will fix.

Kage what makes me sad about 7d2d it's no longer a straight survival game its a rpg with survival aspects its still a decent game but it's more rpg then survival components armor that give magical boosts too states sounds like survival no its rpg elements

I've been watching him for probably 8 years or more... before he first played Subsistence, Mist, Medieval Dynasty, Sunkenland, Raft, Green Hell, The Forest, Night of the Dead... the first time... likely longer but I can not remember the games. I watched him more back then. It all depends on the game though. Some I like some I don't. I've been subscribed the whole time, but he is not the only one that I watch and I do not watch him all the time.
