In my most recent BR playthrough I have managed to proc her personal skill 7 chapters after she joined by complete accident when she enemy phased one of the maids in Ice Tribe village. I was confused as to what the hell was that skill that just procced, before realizing it's her personal. Not only you barely fight any shuriken/knife users after she joins, but she uses them herself so the debuffs mostly overlap meaning all you're left with is a shitty counter that only works on enemy phase on a unit that isn't enemy phase focused. Great design.

What bugs me about Kagero's personal skill most is that she joins after the one singular chapter in Birthright where it'd be most useful. There's also the fact that with a name like shuriken mastery, you'd think that it would somehow buff her own ability to use shurikens rather than let her deal damage to enemies that attack her with that weapon type

See I stand by Blacksmith Kagero after training her in ninja. She’lol grow great speed and good res to go with her bonkers strength and then the classes natural bulk and skill combines with that to make a deranged unit who’s p much guaranteed to hit 38 str (36 cap + ryoma statue + her own statue) wielding great effective weapons if you spare her either an arms scroll or a bit of grinding beforehand. Nutty unit.

This!! It's also easy to snag Death Blow on her and Quixotic to patch up her hit. She's fast enough to double and with the great club she can hit 70-80ish crit rates (she orkos most things already but that's besides the point haha) Mows down everything in her path. Freaking awesome

Kagero in my Birthright playthrough was very broken, her speed and strength exceeded my expectations. At first I didn't plan to use her and just focused on using Saizo and Kaze until I got to chapter 15 where Kaze would die if Corrin didn't reach level A support with him. And because I didn't know something like this would happen, Kaze disappeared from my main team and to replace him I was forced to train Kagero like crazy from the start and for the rest of the game she started soloing the Armored Knight and a bunch of Mages using Sting Shuriken

I've been planning out a run of Birthright where I make all three Ninjas into Cavaliers (because Christmas Cavs and Lowen haha funny), and I was just trying to figure out how to use Kagero when I saw this go up!😂

If you want all three of them to be cavaliers, you would need Kaze to have an A+ support with Silas, Female Corrin to marry Saizo with cavalier as her talent, and have Kagero marry Silas. Which might actually benefit both Saizo and Kagero in this case because for Female Corrin I’d imagine picking cavalier can still give Saizo Elbow Room and Shelter if you want. Kagero in revelations would not have to marry Silas to get cavalier. Kagero can bff Peri and marry Arthur to get access to Sol and HP +5. Only thing she’d be missing is Strong Riposte. But the extra durability might be able to make up for it. If you’re playing Revelation, then Saizo can get mercenary from Laslow via friendship. So he can get Elbow Room, Strong Riposte, Vantage, and Sol when he goes into Master Ninja or Mechanist. Same for Silas if he gets an A+ support with Ryoma. And Ryoma really wants Paladin so it is a win win.

Corrin pair up bot and marriage + 1 seraph robe offset most of Kagero's weaknesses for me. I prefer her over Saizo because while her personal skill is mostly cosmetic, at least it doesn't get you killed.

I find it kind of disingenuous to say that Astra is "less valuable on Kagero" because she has a high Str growth, but for Ryoma it's fine despite an 11 Mt personal weapon that also increases Str by 4. An additional 15% growth on Ryoma is only going to equal 4 levels of Str, on average, at levels above 20/10 for Kagero. Unless you're completely maxing out a Shuriken to +7 you're not going to get close to the damage Ryoma is dealing with his Sword. So why is it a boon for Ryoma but less for Kagero?

Specifically in Birthright, Archer Mozu is a player-phase unit who's largely outclassed by the other natural archers in a game that heavily favors strong enemy phase units. (And Villager is a bad class.)
