Technically the first dragons throughout cultures were the chinese snake dragon and the scandinavian/germanic winged beast dragon. Their is also the Meso-american dragon/snake god Quetzalcoatl but the theory is, while he is a dragon god the aztec people believed he was a snake until vikings appeared and told them of the germanic belief and the design of the viking boats was that of a dragon and so they changed Quetz to a "winged snake" aka dragon. After this the idée of dragon became widespread thanks to the mongols and vikings that now every culture has some version of the legendary creature.

Porunga flexing with his amount of wishes is actually sad when you think about the following: He can bring back three people if you use up all three wishes. Shenron could always bring back entire populations with just one wish. Shenron can literally do more with just one wish than Porunga can do with three. In that sense Shenron is actually stronger.

When Yggdrasil fell it was said that multiple branches or parts of our reality was cut off from the World Tree, these creatures are said to still exist but in a separate dimension from us but from time to time there will be moments of phenomena where our realities will overlap with theirs and we can still see them as somewhat transparent or opaque mirages. So arguably if their existence is true, they still live alongside us even well into today, we just never see them nor can they impact our perception of reality in any real huge way. Some have argued apparently that sudden earthquakes could have been caused by two dragons having a bit of a disagreement over territory.

Pros of porunga: 3 wishes, can bring people back more than once. Cons of porunga: can only bring 1 person back per wish so probably less potent wishes.
