I am not native but dark skinned and I supported the mohawks, I was shocked to realize I was the only one in my community in northern Ontario that did. I really felt alone with my belief, and in some cases I was socially isolated because of it. I was 18 then but it taught one thing, never stray from your belief no matter how bad it gets. I am glad the mohawks stood up and stood tall in the face of an overwhelming force and saved their land!

@@dodgersfan7096 my dark skin led many white people to believe I was native and gave me the abuse that natives got! That is what my dark skin has to with it. I supported the natives. If you didn’t then get lost!

@@joanesp100 I'm Lenape and I felt abuse from others (Non Whites and "Dark Skinned" included) for being native.(believe or not not too much from whites)However Im American. And even from other Tribes for being Lenape. Now Canadians unfortunately are a special breed I've noticed. Don't Virtue signal with the Brown skin speak. Also DO NOT talk as if white people are the only ones who are racist Lest you be a racist yourself. Rise above it. And shame on any hypocritical Canadian who reared their ignorance on you .I'm the same race as you. HUMAN

Cool video... and the guy is correct at the end, everyone I knew in Quebec - civilians of all stripes - hated the SQ.

it was toward the end of the crisis, bridge open, we knew what they wanted, they wanted to exit over bridge into community. we saw that as a sign of surrender, army occupation, enough was enough, exit the way they came in

+MP Kelly we saw that as a sign of surrender-exiting through community? We've been duped by non-natives before, thought army occupation, no trust. exit the way they come in, that's it that's all

+MP Kelly yeah, I don't think other non native, FN realize is that we had first contact and proximity to a city of 2.5million, yes, we even have over our town a 4 lane bridge over the seaway that disconnected us from the shoreline, a canal with ocean-going vessels. just saying we've had it hard to save our culture
