As a man who's been to prison for 2 years I've seen both situations in prison first hand. The "OZ" & "kai cenat" depiction are both real. Some prisons are called "cupcake camps" for this exact reason. I know it sounds crazy but some people live better lives inside than free because they had nothing good going but inside they are taken care of & free to do nothing with their "friends". Then there's the prisons who actually try to help you get/become better through education & training, but those aren't entertaining.

I went to prison 3x for almost 10 years total. What he streamed is more a reflection of county not prison. Depending on county ( California) you’re segregated or mixed, some are tough, some are nasty and filled with lazy people. Prison has soft yards, but any 3 or 4 levels this would be unrealistic. I’ve had a man get brutally stabbed about 5 steps from me with the equivalent of a water faucet that’s on with high water pressure but his blood squirting out from his body… you know what we did? Nothing, me and the guys would look away and start complaining that we wouldn’t get store later on or day room because of it. It gets so violent but you become numb to it.

The only trouble with the 'entertainment' is that while everybody else is picking sides on whether to be mad at 'content' or not, majority of people really don't know how to make a discernment of all the noise. Once you make a discernment of all the noise, it's easy not to get sucked up in it. The noise here being each other's preference and life experience and the preferences and experiences of close ones. Like every other piece of 'entertainment' that has always been put out for consumption, there's a team behind it, a team that plays its part to ensure that you roll in whatever mud that is spread out. And like every other piece of 'entertainment', without knowing how to make a discernment of the noise it generates, it's easy to be fooled that the mud has some benefit.
