Honestly, KAI is one of the best dancers in kpop. He even called as the OG IDOL OF IDOLS, that’s because many idols became idols because of him. Fact. They were inspired with Kai’s dancing, honey vocals, OOZING STAGE PRESENCE, while maintaining his humble personality. Lots of choreographers also praised his dance skills and techniques especially on how he incorporates modern dance with ballet and jazz tones. Since he is known with his insane charisma, many brands also contacted him. One of the most iconic one is being THE GLOBAL BRAND AMBASSADOR OF GUCCI and giving him his own collection which were eventually sold out because of his power. He's an all rounder idol with Ballet and Jazz background which sets him apart from all other dancers. His superpower in EXO is teleportation so that's why he used it in his MV. Fun fact: Kai's power in the EXO theme is teleportation thats why he used it as well for his solo songs/album. Kai, Taemin and Jimin are long time friends. To understand what is happening in Kai's "Mmmh" MV, you have to keep in mind EXO's storyline and concept. As a member of an SM group, it shouldn't be a surprise that Kai is such a great singer and performer. You can't be an SM artist without having amazing vocals and dance skills. All of SM's artists were first chosen for their visuals, vocals and/or dance skills, and even the rappers get intense training as vocalists. That is why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And EXO is a group that is a perfect example of that. Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in someway to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 10+ years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet EXO and they came to Earth with superpowers on a mission to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one if not all of them using their powers. So, each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years, we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. Kai's EXO superpower is teleportation, so what you see throughout his "Mmmh" MV is him teleporting. For example, why you see Kai move a fraction of a frame in the scene when his backup dancers "disappeared," is because they didn't disappear. Kai was the one that moved when he teleported from another time or place at that moment. In other words, he was a fraction of a second off on purpose to show that he was the one moving as he teleported, not the dancers. With what I know about EXO's storyline, nothing is ever random, and even the most minute of details have been designed to give clues and hints within EXO's story. So, even the subtle little details that you might overlook -- such as placing Kai in that shot a fraction of a second off -- could actually be done intentionally. And, I think, at the very end scene, what you are seeing is SM connecting Kai's solo storyline to EXO's storyline. You see D.O.'s power of earth (dirt) which gives him super strength/force and Xiumin's power to control snow/ice/frost being used. You also see what I think is the emergence of a pyramid, which represents Kai and his superpower -- as part of EXOs storyline, all the members have a symbol that represents them. A pyramid is Kai's symbol and when you see a pyramid within EXO's storyline it represents something to do with Kai. I also find it interesting that Xiumin returned from the military about a month before this MV was released, and D.O. just returned from the military shortly after its release, so the end scene in "Mmmh" may be SM's way of connecting the events of this MV to D.O.'s and Xiumin's future solo work as well. If you analyse all the scenes within Kai's MV you would find connections can be made to EXO's storyline and things to do with past EXO MVs and probably even future MVs, as well as SuperM's storyline. If you remember, Kai is also a member of SuperM, which is the industry's very first Supergroup. SuperM's concept is that they are "The Avengers of Kpop," and the members are supposed to be superhero-like characters who are coming together to form an Avengers-like group to help EXO defeat the evil Red Force. And, like the majority of SM's groups, all of their storylines and concepts intertwin and connect. For example, in SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV, you see Kai being chased by or being aided by drones as he tried to scale a building, in his attempt to stop the Red Force. So, I think the scene in "Mmmh," where you see him looking at the drones hovering around him, has something to do with connections between Kai's solo storyline and SuperM/EXO's MVs. Also, Kai means opening, as in a door or gateway, so as a member of EXO, Kim JongIn (Kai) was given the stage name Kai because, as the center of the group, he is supposed to be the member who connects everyone together and that is why he was given the ability to teleport. Plus, as part of EXO's storyline, it is thought that the members are traveling between dimensions and time periods throughout history in their quest to find the Tree of Life and to fix all the evil and corruption that is thought to be caused by the Red Force. So, it is thought that what you see in Kai's MV is him traveling between dimensions and across time periods in his search. That is why you see him in so many different locations and scenes in this MV. There is also a fan theory that the reason why we see Kai with so many different looks and styles in these scenes is because it's not always Kai that we are seeing. Another part of EXO's storyline is that some of the members have evil alter ego clones that have been created by the Red Force. (As we see introduced in EXO's "Obsession" MV.) So, some theories think that sometimes we are seeing Kai's evil X-EXO clone and other times we are seeing superhero, good EXO Kai. And that eye we see in this MV, although I am not sure what it means yet, I think it's connected to the eye we see in other SM MVs, such as EXO Lay's solo "Namanana" MV and aespa's "Savage" MV, and maybe even the eye symbol and closeup of the dragon's eye in Lay's solo "Lit" MV. (We also see a similar eye in SHINee Key's solo "Gasoline" MV.) The eyes all look slightly different, but I think they are supposed to be a symbol that connects something within the larger storyline of SM's SM Culture Universe. All of the EXO members first solo songs have something to do with the fact that they are members of EXO, and their MVs and songs show them using their powers. Xiumin's "Brand New" MV shows him using his power of frost, D.O.'s "Rose" MV shows him using his power of force, Baekhyun's debut album City Lights and MV "UN Village" talks about his power to control light, Suho's "Let's Love" MV shows him with his power to control water, and Kai teleports all over in his "Mmmh" MV. As the first EXO member to have a solo career, the majority of Lay's solo MVs tie into EXO's storyline as well. Even in their solo work, everything EXO does is connected to their concept and storyline as members of EXO. :D Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order. So, we fans have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of everything any of the members of EXO/SuperM are involved in to try and piece it all together and figure out where each part fits within their larger storyline. And the story isn't just limited to their MVs, but it extends to everything EXO is involved in, including teaser videos, live performances, concert VCRs and even a majority of their choreography. As you can see, EXO's and SM's Universe is extremely complicated and complex, and even the most expert of fans, has trouble following the storyline. The thing is, none of us really know exactly what is happening in the story, it's all just fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed or denied any of our theories and they have left it completely up to fans to figure out what is happening and to create the story. (We only hope that someday SM will release the book or produce a movie that will explain the whole story, so we will know whether any part of our theories were correct.) "Mmmh" is the lead track on Kai's solo debut self-titled mini album, Kai, which came out in 2020. There are 6 songs on this album. To hear the rest of the songs, check out his epic "Film: Kai" video, which was created to give viewers a sample of all of the tracks on his album. If you like Kai's dancing you have to check out his dance practice video for "Mmmh." You are going to be even more blown away when you see the full choreography. As the main dancer of EXO, Kai is literally one of the top two best dancers in Kpop. And that's not just a fan's opinion, but it's a title given to him by his peers and the the industry as a whole. (Taemin from SHINee -- who happens to be Kai's best friend since trainee days, and is a fellow member of SuperM -- is the other top dancer.) There is literally no one better when it comes to dance than Kai and Taemin. Kai's love for dance started with jazz and ballet. From a young age, he began training to become a ballet dancer. So he learned form and technique first before any other style of dance. That's why I think you can see such precision in his dancing. As a child, he fell in love with dancing after seeing the Nutcracker and he told his parents that he wanted to do that. So, his whole foundation with dance began with ballet. He says, that if he hadn't been bribed by his father to audition for SM Entertainment, and if he hadn't become a Kpop star, he probably would be a professional ballarino today. Kai became a trainee with SM when he was about 12 -- he debuted as a member of EXO when he was around 18 -- so he has been honing his skills and dedicating himself to become one of the best in the industry for years. And now, at 28, he has literally been recognized as one of the best of the best. He's usually the first one who catches your eyes. EXO's leader is SUHO(please check out his solo song, Hurdle). - This is his solo debut song. It's a very much awaited and anticipated debut because KAI is THE IDOL of Idols. Many idols choose him as their role model. They're inspired to be an idol by him, his skills in dancing, his charisma, and stage presence. A choreographer once said that the industry are full of "KAI wanna be". When this song was out, literally almost everyone in the industry covered it. - The first impression or the image of him being a 'f**k' boy is far from the truth actually. Just because he was caught dating twice doesn't make him a 'f**k' boy. KAI true personality is totally different from what he shows on stage. On stage, he may look intimidating, fierce, sexy but off stage he's shy, soft, and giggly. He's the second youngest in EXO. - About 'He can dance.' Of course, he CAN. He's recognized as one of the best idol dancers in Kpop (if not the best) by professional dancers, choreographers, and other idols (as someone mentioned in the comment, he's chosen as the best dancer by other idols 4 years in a row). I don't know anything about dancing but many experts in the field said he has the natural talent, great techniques, exceptional body controls, amazing expressions, and the X factor as a performer. - As mentioned by others, EXO has their own lore/storyline/concept (they are the first group to have one actually). Kai was know as Dance King. He is still famous as "Idol of idols". He is also known as "Face Of The Group (EXO)". It doesn't mean as "he is visual". The main visual of EXO are Sehun and Suho although Kai and Chanyeol are part of Visual. Taemin (Shinee), Kai (EXO) and Ten (NCT/WayV) are main dancers of SM. That is why they share similar dance moves. The strong part of Kai is sexy Body movement and facial expression. Ten is known for good musicality and smooth transition. Taemin dances wider genre of dance and known for his creative stage presentation. He even danced on 45° tilted stage. All three of them have very good technique. Especially their Leg techniques are so great and smooth. Their movements are very energetic and powerful.

I laugh so hard when a comment in their screen said , Taemin is better dancer in terms of technique, he has more style and techniques compare to Kai . Like bish , I love Taemin , but he started to as a non-dancer ,he is who he is because he worked hard on his dancing over the years(Which is extremely admirable)but just because he debut earlier doesn't make him better, him and Kai started together as trainee , so when both of them were trainee , one was a non dancer( can do freestyle ) the other one is Trained Ballet and Jazz dancer for few years , In technique Kai is way superior to almost all kpop male dancer I know, His classical base doesn't show in his hiphop( if you know anything about dancing , you know how hard for a classical dancer to throw his root , look at nct winwin , he is classically trained and yet he is weak compared to other guy in hiphop, but that not tha case in Kai, his each style just perfect, ) Taemin has a faminine side in his style that's why dumb people think he is better but Kai's each style and dance genre are just extremely clean and top noch.

I'm tired of delulu Taemin fans who think that self-taught and only good at freestyle can be better than a classically and professionally trained in ALL styles Kai, just because Kai debuted later doesn't take away from his talent. All the choreographers I've watched acknowledge Taemin's natural talent, but can't stop praising Kai for taking each move to another level, as he knows the proper technique, correct angles and his body control and awareness of each muscle is incomparable

@@key8033 I'm not trying to make Taemin fans listen to me, I just stated that I'm tired of SOME of his fans who are obviously delusional trying to convince the world that Taemin HAS to be better only because he debuted earlier and he's good at freestyle, like it's the only important type of dance, and all other genres just don't exist. Isn't it delusional? When I stated that Kai would help Taemin during their trainee days as was said in one of their interviews, I swear, they were ready to throw eggs at me, like Kai (being a student of the jazz academy for years) simply had nothing to help Taemin (self-taught dancer) with. 🤷‍♀️

@@key8033 and I totally agree, that Kai and Taemin are not competing, just because they both love dancing and are BFFs who are happy for each other's accomplishments. In the end it all comes to the individual preference, but if we, Kai's fans write under KAI DEVOTED video that Kai's the best and was chosen number one in the industry for years and many choreographers choose him over anybody else, then Taemin's fans are ready to write nasty comments about Kai's professionalism and abilities. I've never written any comment about Kai under Taemin's videos, I just don't care what his fans think as I'm busy praising Kai, not dropping his name under any other idol's videos.
