To understand what is happening in Kai's "Mmmh" MV, you have to first understand EXO's concept.. Everything EXO is involved in, and I literally mean almost everything, is connected in someway to their concept and storyline. EXO's MVs are kind of like a movie -- it's a movie that has been going on for the past 8 years -- since predebut -- and it has no sign of coming to an end any time soon. The one thing you have to keep in mind with all of EXO's MVs, and I really mean all of them -- including their sub-sub-unit MVs and a majority of the member's solo MVs. And because Baekhyun and Kai are involved, even SuperM's storyline -- is that they are all connected and they all tell a little more of EXO's story. To truly understand EXO you need to know that EXO debuted in 2012. EXO's "Mama" song and MV is how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept. So to really understand EXO you need to start from the very beginning and watch BOTH of their "Mama" MVs. (EXO-K and EXO-M) From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet EXO and they came to Earth with superpowers on a mission to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one if not all of them using their powers. Exo, as in exoskeleton, means "outer," so as a member of EXO they are outside the ordinary.The group's concept comes from the real term exoplanet, which is a term that is used for a planet that is outside our solar system, so their name was chosen to represent the fact that they are stars that are "out of this world" when it comes to their talents. So, each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. Kai's EXO superpower is teleportation, so what you see throughout his "Mmmh" MV is him teleporting. And, I think, at the very end scene what you are seeing is SM connecting Kai's solo storyline to EXO's storyline. You see D.O.'s power of earth (dirt) which gives him super strength/force and Xiumin's power to control snow/ice/frost being used. (D.O. and Xiumin are members of EXO.) You also see what I think is the emergence of a pyramid, which represents Kai and his superpower -- as part of EXOs storyline all the members have a symbol that represents them. A pyramid is Kai's symbol and when you see a pyramid within EXO's storyline it represents something to do with Kai I also find it interesting that Xiumin returned from the military a month or so ago, and D.O. just returned from the military, so the end scene in "Mmmh" may be SM's way of connecting the events of this MV to D.O. and Xiumin's upcoming solo work as well. If you analyse all the scenes within Kai's MV you would find connections can be made to EXO's storyline and things to do with past EXO MVs and probably even future MVs, as well as SuperM's storyline. As I think you know, Kai is also a member of SuperM, which is the industry's very first Supergroup. SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in the U.S. They debuted in 2019 and they are designed to bring Kpop to the U.S. market. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the absolute best from SM Entertainment's most popular groups, which includes EXO, SHINee, NCT and WayV. SuperM's concept is that they are "The Avengers of Kpop," and the members are supposed to be superhero-like characters who are coming together to form an Avengers-like group to help EXO defeat the evil Red Force. And, like the majority of SM's groups, all of their storylines and concepts intertwin and connect. For example, in SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV, you see Kai being chased by or being aided by drones as he tried to scale a building, in his attempt to stop the Red Force. So, I think the scene in "Mmmh," where you see him looking at the drones hovering around him, has something to do with connections between Kai's solo storyline and SuperM/EXO's MVs. Also, Kai means opening as in a door or gateway, so as a member of EXO, Kim Jongin (Kai) was given the stage name Kai because, as the center of the group, he is supposed to be the member who connects everyone together and that is why he was given the ability to teleport. Plus, as part of EXO's storyline, it is thought that the members are traveling between dimensions and time periods throughout history in their quest to find the Tree of Life and to fix all the evil and corruption that is thought to be caused by the Red Force. So, in "Mmmh" it is thought that Kai is traveling between dimensions and across time periods in his search for the other members and the Tree of Life, etc. There is also a fan theory that the reason why we see Kai with so many different looks and styles in this MV is because it's not always Kai that we are seeing. Another part of EXO's storyline is that some of the members have evil alter ego clones that have been created by the Red Force, so some theories think that sometimes we are seeing Kai's evil X-EXO clone and other times we are seeing superhero, good EXO Kai. All of the EXO members first solo songs have something to do with the fact that they are members of EXO, and their MVs and songs show them using their powers. Baekhyun's song "UN Village" talks about his power to control light, Suho's "Let's Love" MV shows him with his power to control water, and Kai teleports all over in his "Mmmh" MV. As the first EXO member to have a solo career, the majority of Lay's solo MVs tie into EXO's storyline as well. Even in their solo work, everything EXO does is connected to their concept and storyline as members of EXO. :D Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order. So, we fans have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of everything any of the members of EXO/SuperM are involved in to try and piece it all together and figure out where each part fits within their larger storyline. And the story isn't just limited to their MVs, but it extends to everything EXO is involved in, including teaser videos, live performances, concert VCRs (videos played between sets in their concerts) and even a majority of their choreography. As you can see, EXO's and SM's Universe is extremely complicated and complex, and even the most expert of fans, has trouble following the storyline. The thing is, none of us really know exactly what is happening in the story, it's all just fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed or denied any of our theories and they have left it completely up to fans to figure out what is happening and to create the story. And oftentimes, because the story is not in order, we discover that, with the introduction of a new MV or performance, everything we thought to be true has been turned on its head and we now have to rethink everything. (We only hope that someday SM will come out with a book or movie that will explain the whole story, so we will know whether any part of our theories were correct.) If you like Kai's dancing you have to check out his dance practice video for "Mmmh." You are going to be even more blown away when you see the full choreography. There is a reason why Kai is considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the industry. ;P And yes, because Kai and Taemin are such phenomenal dances there are only a select few people that can actually keep up with them and match their skill level, so when SM finds amazing dancers, they hold on to them and they use them as dancers and choreographers for all of their best dancers and groups. You will see some of the same backup dancers in Taemin's dance practices and live performances, as well as other SM artists and groups such as TVXQ, Super Junior, and BoA, etc. And some of those backup dancers are also choreographers. The more you watch of SM dance practices and live performances, you will probably start to recognize some of the backup dancers.

Whew! This MV really deserves the highest recognition there is. The cinematography is so LIT! As expected of KAI, he nailed every single scene of this MV. Man I am telling you SM groups are just so freaking GODamn GOOD 👌👍 100%. SM started kpop in Korea by nurturing young talent(pick talented young people) and give them training them so that they can reach their maximum level of potential, and ones who pass the hard training get a chance to debut. Their artists that you see now definitely had tough competition & only the best of the best get to debut. They hire both Korean and foreign/American producers and I think that’s what makes it beautiful b/c you get make and bring something together & like you said push it to the next level which is basically innovation. A lot of the things you will see in other kpop groups was started/something already done by other SM groups.

Thank you very much for checking out KAI, his solo work, and appreciating his talent and his art. I really enjoyed watching the two KAI videos I've seen so far. This is the quality content I've been searching for which not many reactors/reviewers offer. New solo artist, KAI, created his own lane to drive in. He's a fan of RnB & KRnB music; he also listens to quite a few western artists like Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Brandy, Michael Jackson, The Weeknd, etc. KAI has great taste in music, & he doesn't listen to a lot of K-pop which explains why he has a unique music style & didn't take the typical K-pop sound route. Thank God, SM Entertainment gave KAI some creative/artistic freedom for his 1st solo project, so his fans don't have to suffer from SM Ent.'s mediocre music & questionable concepts that some of their artists release as a group or as soloists. I'm a music lover with a picky taste in music. I'm a KAIgom, a fan of KAI, so I subscribed for KAI after watching your "FILM : KAI" & "Mmmh" videos. Also, I'm a casual fan of other artists, so I may check out some of your reaction videos of KAI's groups, EXO & SuperM, some other artists' reaction vids, & some other vids of interest. So....you like EXO Lay and EXO Kai (also in Super M). You need to listen to UN Village or Candy by EXO Baekhyun (he’s also in Super M, he’s the leader there and the guy singing the super high notes you always like). How about EXO's leader Suho, his solo album is gold! And EXO Chen: his solo Ballads are SUPERIOR, two solo albums, a vocalist from Heaven itself. There’s also EXO SC, Sehun and Chanyeol, our favorite rap and vocals duo. EXO CBX (Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin), the legendary vocal subunit. They have multiple top quality albums. The members have been doing a lot of solo and unit work because one by one their members are leaving for their mandatory military service since 2019. We are waiting for the golden day when this all star cast of artist are back together as EXO again, but it’ll take a few more years. In the meantime, enjoy their unmatched solo and unit music.

Thank you for reacting to Kim Jongin aka KAI. I love him. He's such a kind & humble person. He's also one of my favorite people, music artists, & dancers of all-time. His debut solo EP album, 'KAI - The 1st Mini Album' is one of my favorite albums. For me, it's a no skip album & a solid debut for a first time soloist. He didn't have any other solo music credits until he debuted as a soloist on November 30th, 2020. This was a gift to his fans. Also, KAI does have some live performance songs, "Deep Breath," "I See You," "Confession," "Spoiler," & a G.Soul cover song, "Beautiful Goodbye." Unfortunately, none of those songs have studio versions; "Deep Breath," "I See You," & "Confession" are available as live versions on EXO's live albums, has live performances, dance practices, & lyrics videos; "Spoiler" is still an unreleased track but has live performances, a dance practice, & lyrics videos; "Beautiful Goodbye," a G.Soul cover song has a live performance & lyrics videos. I am very happy KAI finally debuted as a solo artist after 8+ years as a member of EXO & as a member of SuperM since 2019. KAI role isn't main vocalist in his groups, EXO & SuperM, so he barely had any verses in his groups' songs that showcased his vocals, so some of us were blown away by his vocals in his solo album. KAI's vocal tone/vocal color has always been one of my favorites since I first heard him sing in an EXO song; his vocals are so unique, sweet, smooth, & versatile; his vocals are usually easy to identify in his groups' songs; I can also hear how much his vocals has improved over the years. We knew KAI could sing, but he seems like a very shy vocalist. At some EXO concerts, KAI would sometimes sang the verses of the members like Doh Kyungsoo aka D.O., who was enlisted in the military & unavailable to perform his parts in certain EXO songs. Doh Kyungsoo aka D.O. is another EXO member with one of my favorite vocal tones/vocal colors & favorite vocalists in general. He is discharged now & will be releasing his solo album any day now. That thing at the end is Xiumin's insignia, which shows up at the end because this video was released right before he was released from mandatory military service for two years long. His character concept creates/controls ice/frost, while kai's is teleporting, Sehun's is wind, D.O.'s earth/controlling of the ground, Chanyeol's is creating fire in the shape of a Phoenix because he is one, Suho creates water, Baekhyun creates Light from the Sun, Chen creates thunder and lightning, they all control/create each element. They're also used to be other members of the group who could fly, have telepathy, see the future, control time, control fire, and heal everything.

Wahahah soo the storyline concept in this solo mv is very much connected to EXO AS A GROUP'S concept of each members having their own superpowers and Kai's is Teleportation...
