Remember, Kai was not born a psychopath. He became one after his family rejected him due to him being born a siphoner - something he could not change. So it was his family's fault. If they treated him like a normal person then none of this mess would have happened. Same with The Salvatore Gang. If they gave him a change to prove himself to be a good person then none of this shit in season 7 and 8 would have happened. I get it that they do not trust him. I would not trust him either.

ahhhh, the feels. bonkai (even just kai ) had so much potential. he was whacked off way too soon, honestly. they could've kept them together in the prison world, till he made amends, or had him come back for her in a way only kai knows how... that would've been great to watch. It is clear that kai took a liking to Bonnie from the get go... just hate how we've been tortured by what could have been .... *sadness*

I think it's because the writers made Damon good enough for Elena, and Klaus good enough for Caroline, so why not Bonnie be with a lunatic as well? Except Bonnie actually has morals and isn't self centered like Elena and Caroline. Enzo and Bonnie was forced on the viewers. Tom was a insignificant character and Matt just wasn't interested. I'll admit, I also shipped Bonnie and Kai when I was younger but I'm still confused on why I did.
