Wow, 2,100 views. I've never reached this many on a release day ever, thank you. If this gets to anyone who hasn't heard of me; hey, I’m Kai, I'm an independent artist, and I'm over 10 years sober. My creative work is me reaching back into the dark to grab whoever may be reaching up from it. If that's you, imagine my music and my art as my grip on your hand, and imagine whatever inspiration you might derive from it as you seeing and feeling the light and heat from the sun pushing through the surface of your shadow as you rise from it. Let's make it out of the mud. I made this video something like a puzzle box. It is meant to be engaged with. I wrote, directed, filmed and edited it myself - and I wrote, performed and produced the song. Thanks for giving me a shot. Gonna keep at it.

Hey kai, i just started listening to your music last week. Man, idk how ive never came across your beautifully written music. Youre lyrics are so fvkn powerful brother. The way you shape a songs tune and cadence. The stories you've told through 🎶. Its absolutely amazing music. Ive had one sad fvkn year brother. Ive lost so many people this year, not just acquaintances, good people in my life. And it broke me and i drank and i made everything even worse and lost someone who i thought would stick by my side through everything like i had done with her. Coming out of everything and realizing that i might have been with a narcissist. Didcards n break-ups for years and i didnt know that is considered abuse and i didnt have to put up with it. Me begging her to come to my grand fathers funeral for support a month after our break-up as i was desperately trying to keep my life together. 4 great friends gone, 2 grand fathers and a girlfriend of 6 years just gone and i didnt think id make it out and a friend of mine, someone ive known for 20+ years started seeing each other. She introduced me to katastro and i rabbit holed all the way to your music. Trying to find meaning and comfort in songs and songs, letting me know that im not alone in this feeling. Idk if what me and my friend have will last, but idk, its like at my absolute lowest, i felt the universe actively trying to save me before i did something dmb. I still see my ex in everything, i miss her? Or trauma bonded? 🤷‍♂️ idk. All i know is im not treading water rn, im not even floating, i feel like im swimming towards my goals. I just wanted to say thank you man. My long a** comment lol. You helped me so much this year ty ty ty ty 🙏 im a very small artist who paints, and im trying to make something of it. I feel like this year the universe moved everything and destroyed a lot to build something better for me. I hope one day i can bring to people what you bring, hope,character, faith, and amazing art that heals peoples souls. Again thank you 🤍

Listening to this song feels like you're in my head! I've been clean from heroin and cocaine for two and a half years. I'm going through a lot right now dealing with anxiety, depression, CPTSD and I've just been diagnosed with autism. I also lost my mobility due to back issues last year. At times like this, I would usually have a major relapse but I'm in therapy trying to learn new coping skills. It's really hard and at times I feel like I'm struggling to hold on to sobriety but I keep going. Music has been helping me massively. Knowing your backstory and hearing your music tell me that I will be ok helps me more than you will ever know. Thank you Kai, thank you for giving me a place to find solace.
