The kids I teach are on probation or ankle monitors, I do have a few with a good head, but the majority, 75%, have had an interaction with police and have been handcuffed or searched in some capacity.

Notice how in these videos the people being interogated always talk... if you ask for a lawyer immediately you are subjecting yourself to the evidence only. Even if you are innocent it can be very risky to talk with detectives unless you are giving them prove-able alibi's.. anything and everything will be used against you. A lot of people know this going into a integration room but due to adrenaline and nerves, you are easily suscerptible to thinking that you can talk your way out of an integration You can't without a lawyer unless you're actually innocent but if you're actually innocent and you're in a integration room... means you got put in a really hard situation to explain somehow and that also can be almost impossible to talk yourself out of without a lawyer.
