KAILAS FUGA EX BOA First Run & First Impressions Review. One of the most surprising trail shoes from last year was the Kailas FUGA EX 2 and it actually made it into our Top 5 Running Shoes of 2022 video! I didn't realise that the brand made a version of the EX model with a BOA adjustment system on the upper. I've wanted to try a running shoe with this type of closure system for a while so this seemed like a great opportunity. In this video I give you a few stats about the Kailas FUGA EX BOA and then I take them out for their first run around the awesome Tehidy Woods.

I'm a fan of BOA dials on trail running shoes. I think it works even better when the shoes is designed with more if a wrap around upper (e.g. Altra Mont Blanc Boa, Speedland). I hope that more companies will use the Li2 dial that allows you to loosen the laces by turning the dial counter clockwise. So dar it seems to be reserved for shoes in the 200€+ range.

Looks interesting. Quite 'affordable' for a boa shoe. But 8mm drop means it's not for me. Don't especially like the idea of running in high heels! 👠🏃😂

Yea pretty high for a trail. I wear the catamount though and it’s 6 and I have no issues with ground feel or twisted ankles

I tend to prefer a 4 to 5mm off set on my running shoes but the FUGA EX doesn't feel high in the heel when you're running in them 👍
