Shoe is too heavy for my liking and the price is just oooof. Once a trail shoe gets over 300 grams, I think they start to work against you on the trails, especially on longer races. Can't imagine how heavy the size 12 or 13's are. Thanks for the review, great video as always.

I was gearing myself up for spending the eye watering £230 on this but have just seen there's a normal Ultra Glide 3 being released too. That makes it nigh on impossible for the average ultra runner I think. Fair play to Salomon though in creating a halo product in the S-Lab model to pump up sales of the cheaper to produce one. They know what they're doing.

The standard Ultra Glide looks pretty good and a lot more affordable Alex 👍 I might try and get hold of a pair and film a comparison video between the two shoes 🤔

Big fan of the Ultraglide series but 250€ is too much for one. I have seen the regular Ultraglide out as well now for 100€ less, so might go for that one at some point.

For what it's worth, I picked up a pair of these. Seem decent so far, haven't gone far in them yet. They run a little big for me, so I want to exchange them for a half size down. Thought it would be ok, but not liking the extra room. I think that also comes from the wider toe box. All my other Asics are size 10, but this one fits bigger for me. I have the Trabuco Max 3 and the Fuji Lite 5. The Trabuco fits in-between those two, but it's also beefier than I expected. Closer to the Max than the Fuji cushion wise. The weight is good. The cushion is firmer than I expected with it having the FF Blast+ in it, but maybe it will bed in more as I get more miles on them, just not as responsive as I had hoped right out of the box. Both the Fuji Lite 5 and Trabuco Max 3 have more bounce than the Trabuco 13 so far, especially out of the box. Upper is pretty breathable, much better than the Max or the Fuji imo. Traction is pretty solid too. Will be a great daily trainer, not sold on it for a long race shoe yet, but probably can handle a hundred. Cheers.

It seems the La Sportiva MorphoDynamic Midsole patent must have "ran"out lol. They had similar wavy midsole over 10 years ago - worth looking it up. I ran in three pairs of the Quantums back in the day and they were fantastic for long days in the mountains.

@ThatFlowState20 сағат бұрын
The new Ultra Glide 3 look almost identical except that the upper seems to have a bit more padding. It seems like Salomon is using the same approach as they did with the SLAB Genesis and regular Genesis. If so that's some good news as the Ultra Glide 3 is a lot cheaper.

The only thing I noticed was that the poor grip other reviewers have mentioned didn't come up in Loyd's notes; but I think that's more likely a "first run" factor than a "sold out" factor.

@@Run4Adventure poles after the first day of use the strap on the handle fell off. It was impossible to replace it or put it back like in other top running poles. luckily the manufacturer suggested and asked if I wanted new poles.. You probably already know the answer. I think the price/value issue is going to come down to durability. I've got almost 70km in mine so far with about 10 of those on roads and so far no sign of any premature wear. I've also got a few less worries in the game because I had vouchers and a discount code and only ended up paying £140! At that price they're a bargain. I love the ride in them, I appreciate the energy foam+ being a bit firmer than the hoka T-X3. Not sure how they'll be in the summer though, I'm geting warm feet even in this cold weather

Just got mine on 40% off. Based on a lot of reviews, I went half a size down. My takumi sen 10(US 8.5) feels the same size as the size 8 terrex speed. Only wished that the tongue is a little longer. Surprised how my heel feels secure with how minimized the heel counter/collar is. I don’t think that the heel width is narrow. It just the front is significantly wider. Plus the heel feels a touch firmer than the front. With that, I find them to be stable. Midsole geometry is like those in the road fast shoes. No question that this will be great on non technical trails. Will be interesting on ocr races where I mainly going to be using them.
@Run4Adventure2 күн бұрын
The sizing on mine must have been wrong then? I originally ordered my usual uk9.5 and they were way too small, my big toe was right at the end of the shoe! I agree, the tongue does need to be a bit longer with a bit more padding. I actually used them in a 10k trail race which had some technical section and they weren’t great. The laces worked loose and my foot was sliding in the upper which made them feel quite unstable 🤔
