I ordered one, from Kailash. A Mk1 military, 15" blade,acid wash with micarta handle. I'll have it in about 7-8 weeks. And yeesss,,, I did order another from another store as well...

I have a kailash khukuri too, the fact that they heat treatment it western style is what tempted me, it’s good, although the wood handle did spontaneously chip, Andrew Lucas suggested I glue it up, the chip was lost soI did, but I suspect I will need to replace the whole handle at some point, probably with micarta scales. Btw, the smell you like (or not in this case) is the smell of tanning chemicals and dyes, not leather, leather smells like dead skin.

My Kailash blade is due in Monday. I got one from Great Gurka Kukuri house. I'm ordering one tonight from Tora. " I think I have a problem..."

If you have the inclination to try more modern khukuri design, Andrews Scourge is a sick blade. Mine came from the Khukuri House before he split the sheets with them and it is a beast that has survived and excelled at everything I have thrown at it. It does eat batons though and doesn't free split quit as well as my old Kabar Kukri Machete.

Your video was action packed with specific info as well as good humor! I can't think of another time I've so thoroughly enjoyed 10 minutes of anyone's video. From beginning to end I loved the entire segment. I'm stoked to follow and watch more of your awesome videos!

I can't wait for my custom Pensioner to arrive when this plague chills down a little! I have requested a custom karda and chakmak with it too. But sadly Nepal is on lockdown and the productions came to a halt. :( (P.S. If Andrew or Bisnu sees this comment, hey there. It's me, Ferenc.)

Same boat bruh. Same boat. How is it working out for you now. I'm going with a micarta pensioner with a kydex sheath. (I'll make my own leather one.) I need a blade I can strap to my bike in all weather for bikepacking trips. Horn and leather wouldn't be ideal. But J am going to put a nice mustard patina on it to get a fake hamon

My opinion on whether or not the fullers increase friction is that they may. However, those same fullers also grant the blade greater rigidity. I do think that three is excessive, since one fuller is already good, but hey, to each their own

Hah! Just checked yesterday to see when the last time you uploaded and just now you put up a new vid! I'll have to watch this in the morning, but good to know you're still making content.

Badass... Almost no blade compares to the combination of beauty and strength of a chirra kukri. ( edit: check out Kukri House. Great quality and great prices)
@billmelater64705 ай бұрын
I would think that the fullers would actually decrease the surface area coming into contact with the wood, thereby reducing friction. Conversely, depending on their geometry, if there's some chance they're acting more like ridges that scrape into the wood they could have the opposite effect. Hard to say.

Good information regarding Tora and cheera blade. Actually 5 cheera blade is used to cut 1100 Buffalo. At present Nepal stop Shipping in India. Nepal can start business with China. There are lots of Nepali in India but we respect every Nepali person. Thanks a lot. Please make video📹 of Tora blade.

I bathe with pine tar soap. So I would probably love the creasote smelling sheath. Probably go nice with turpentine aftershave. If I shaved...
@shckr172 жыл бұрын
smelly sheath. you could try a charcoal filter. maybe a fish tank filter or something you wrap hunting clothes in. then put it in a vacuum bag for a while. IF that works recondition the leather. I did that 5 years ago on a yard sale find. I guess it depends on what that smell actually is. you could put it at the bottom of a box of military surplus and change the smell to something else. Good luck.
