@@chirpthird he means its the best surfers point of view of what its like to fall off a wave at jaws (its not fun) and that the wave he got afterword at 2:14 was a well deserved reward, since physycally he had to try really hard to not die in order to get it

I must be getting old, but I never thought I would be seeing footage like this...simply amazing. GoPro tends to make scary surfing situations look fun and easy, but this footage actually conveys some of the incredible intensity of a huge, fast moving wave.

The camera captures Kai's legs and body making the small moves required to stay in balance and moving in the correct direction. It would seem one wrong move and you are a sure wipe out.

He makes catching and riding those waves seem so easy! There’s a lifetime of best ever waves for most normal surfers in one session AND its at Jaws. I mean, where do you begin? That’s before you look at the first 2 mins which is hands down the best ‘big wave nightmare’ footage Ive ever seen. Incredible film & surfer. Nice to end the year with something to put a smile on your face.

kai--you are so good man..i am a 62 year old veteran who was injured and i am a paraplegic...but i use to be stationed pearl harbor...i use to surf but i was not good enough for big stuff on north shore plus i was a howlie with not a ton of connections..so i mainly body surfed Waimea as long as it was not too big...of ocurse using churchill fins...so i say all this cause i can totally appreciate your surfing expertise and especially appreciate you killing it at Jaws man...i want to donate to your cause and support you cause i cant anymore...thanks for your courage and having fun same time I can kinda live through you man...my name is Robert Bass

From the inside with the go pro, the waves look like they are 2 m high. the holddown and the way kai gets thrown around tell a different story :-) love the POV´s. kudos to the camera mount, holds on like a real champ

It’s amazing how fast the wave is on him, his transition is quick and perfect every time, if he was slower or did not get his feet perfect he would be swallowed up and get pounded. The sound of the wave pounding the board is crazy like an explosion.
