I thought you needed to stand up or at least to be on your knees for any mattress sports activity

So that what it's like to get barreled... Outstanding video, love the slow-mo, and the lack of music gives it a real-life feel to the viewer. Awesome skills.

Hey Kai, my uncle is Clint Kimmins and I was wondering can you maybe come to snapper rocks and teach me like I already know the basics it’s just like how to do a cut back. Can you show me how to do a cut back?❤

I’ve seen some videos from the late sixties a dude named George Greenough (I think) was a pioneer on a kneeboard he handcrafted and he also took these out often. Awesome that Kai is keeping that going

mma fighters think they have a tougher sport. In Big wave surfing there are no time outs or a bell to save you from your worst beat downs you just gotta take it like a man and hopefully you live

When I was about age 14 or so, I was in the ocean jumping the swells, it's really fun. But I didn't know what I know now, and a big wave crashed down on me and rolled me along the bottom all the way to shore! I've always been a good swimmer and love the water, but that day, I was scraped and tumbled over the sand, and whatever was in it, all the way to shore. Yes, it hurt, and I came out sputtering and scraped up! But didn't deter me from loving the water, but I certainly have a healthy respect for those big waves, and the ocean in general. Waves usually come in sets and about every 14th wave, there is a bigger one on its way. But when I see these guys surfing and a wave crashing on top of them, it is very scary. Those waves have literally TONS of water in them. When you consider that 1 cubic foot of water weighs over 62.5 pounds, and one US gallon of water weighs over 8 pounds, one would think that a wave crashing down on them can weigh tons! I'd hate to fight that! i guess their surfboard attached to them helps bring them to surface, but it's still scary. There are life-jackets that will inflate if you get caught in a snow avalanche, and I would suppose those would be good for surfers, IF you could get them to wear one.

man,the image quality is unbelievable....the depth of field is amazing,everything eagle eye sharp..no matter if near or far! Which GoPro model is it?
@tommywallbanger13 күн бұрын
It's funny because GoPro cams don't do the size of this wave justice. I've seen some GoPro footage and then the footage from the shore and these GoPros, as great as they are, just don't give a real indication of how big these waves are. During the 1st wipeout the screen was going very black and it did it a few times. I could see myself in the reflection of the screen with this awful look on my face like Oh Good Lord I would not want to be surfing that wave.

I’m in awe. I just can’t start imagining how much courage that’s needed to surf big waves because for me a 6ft wave already feels like dropping from rooftop 🤣
