Cool, I've been following Backcountry Kiwi and RevillNZ as well as southern land solo, I didn't realise you are a NZ channel, happy days, cheers, I'll do a bit of catch up, I live in Scotland but come from there, cheers.

Loved seeing Sentinel Rock again! It’s my favourite place in nz, as I lived in Katikati for some time and went there a few times. I will RUN up there when it’s finally possible again to come back and just sit there and be just so grateful being back in nz and not making the mistake of leaving again 🥲 Keep going with the videos! Greets from Germany!

If you have a look at a topo map, they actually have it marked on the wrong Highpoint which is interesting. Thank you for watching.

It was rather impressive, more so if you had a full pack

If you have an under quilt for the hammock it makes it warmer.

Looks like a very nice womble Dave. Let’s make sure we take some bacon with us on our upcoming trip. :)

Are you loving me or calling me a WOMBLE? Which is a fictional animal inhabiting Wimbledon Common in London, characterized as clearing up litter! Given I was brought up in the Shire, I'm more a hobbit, either way....both are likable characters.

That's an awesome part of the north south track, I was wondering if you had a gpx or strava file of how you got up to motutapere hut from Killarney lakes, and if so, would you mind sharing to me please?

As a result of showing this I was banned from helping people with off track routes, so sorry

@@OutdoorsmanDave oh sorry to hear that. I have watched a few of your videos and enjoy learning a few things in the bush. in regards to the off track route - a friend and I managed to do the loop last week and it was fantastic day out, over filled our cups with joy.

Great work cleaning up that mess Dave. It irritated me when i passed it last month but wasn't in a position to carry it out.

Thanks Craig, how often have you used Killarney Track?

Would suggest a head torch in the day pack, if you end up stuck or lost into the evening you are trouble without light.
@OutdoorsmanDave5 ай бұрын
@@markdev4796 Absolutely, if I haven’t mentioned it in this video I often do so in “other what pack for a day hike” videos please see more 👍

Agree that it’s one of the best sections of track. There’s a few really cool areas just off the track around there too. Just be wary of the big patches of tree-nettle! (As a side note, I believe it’s pronounced ‘Mo-too-ta-pe-re’ hut)
@OutdoorsmanDave3 жыл бұрын
I struggle with pronunciation so thanks, what are the cool areas just off the track please?

Hey friends, it supports my efforts if you actually share the video link with friends so please feel free to do so. Please just ensure you allow plenty of daylight hours and ensure you have the day's hiking gear I recommended. Route-finding and good fitness are required if doing the Motutapere track and it transpires that I’m not meant to show you this! If you are a hunter posting on KZbin, please tell me how you are able to post footage that is off track?

How many Km's was the loop and how long were you guys out for?
@OutdoorsmanDave3 жыл бұрын
Including to & from carpark 21kms and all day, remember that in order to provide free entertainment, my hikes take around 50% longer with camera place & retrieve, so please sub if not already ▶️
