Another excellent and typically Kai video. I even watch the ones that ostensibly have nothing to do with my style or gear choice because I always learn something and am always entertained. Brilliant. Thank you :0)

I get that an variable filter will reduce the amount of light getting in... However, why doesn't reducing the the ISO and opening the F-Stop have the same effect?
@dadanardi55417 жыл бұрын
based on my experience using the lowest iso and having f8 or f11 is not dark enough to have that blur effect, especially at the sunny beach.

*1. Location, Location, Location:* Research it, Google it, Explore it. Go out and find new places to shoot. Also, Go back to old locations and shoot in different lighting conditions and seasons. *2. Plan You Shoot:* Allow enough time to set up your tripod, your camera, and find out which angles works best for you. Don't set up minutes before the sun sets. *2 1/2. Know your weather:* Check the weather so there aren't any unexpected surprises. *3. Bring ND Filters:* You need (Variable) ND Filters (Brands like Hoya, Syrp, etc). Why? Things just look better with a slower shutter speed. *4. Get A Good Tripod:* This doesn't include the free tripods you get when you buy a camera. Get one that doesn't wobble when you press down on it, has a hook for adding extra stability with baggage. *5. Have A Wide-Angle Lens:* It's very useful to get those dramatic leading lines. *6. Leading Lines:* Doesn't have to be straight, could be curved. It creates a path to the subject of the image. *7. Foreground Interest:* You can put "flashy" things, like people in your foreground. But, a typical landscape thing is to put a "non-flashy" thing in your foreground, like a gate, for interest. *8. More D.O.F (Depth of Field):* Have a smaller aperture. _Beginner Photographer tip-> Bigger "f/" (ex: f/11, f/16) number = smaller aperture._ However, don't make you aperture too small (like f/22) because this causes "Diffraction" which makes your photos look softer. (Kai would personally go to f/16, smallest) *9. Aerial Landscapes:* You can get dramatic, less common shots by "reaching for the frickin skies" with your drone. *9 1/2: Rule of Thirds* Treat it as a suggestion, not a "Rule". It can get you an aesthetically pleasing shot, but don't let it dictate your creativity. *10. Don't Be a Quitter:* Don't let the weather get to you. It doesn't always work for you. Even if you think the shoot is not working, take some shots anyway. You might be surprised what you get. If it's cloudy, try black and white. If it's dark, try a long exposure. But, expose properly... The photo, not you lol.
