Prog's not dead, it just smells funny. I totally understand why it was popular, and why it became unpopular though. I love Punk just as much and actually appreciate that it dealt a substantial blow to prog rock, otherwise we'd only ever be bored out of our minds listening to lengthy keyboard solos and not much else.
