Isn't this song a huge bop?!? Hard to keep from chair dancing when watching this one! Maisie Williams, the "Game of Thrones" girl, is a big SF and PTX fan, and has appeared on a couple of episodes of Superfruit. Kevin's phrase is, "I'm the human 808", which is a reference to the Roland TR-808, a well-known and popular drum synthesizer machine. The melody of this song (with major lyric changes) was used by the NFL for the theme of the 2016 Thursday Night Football broadcast.

1. One cameo that gets missed a lot since you can't really see her face is the person in the teddy bear onsie eating cereal. That's Anna Kendrick, actress in a lot of things but mainly known for being in the Pitch Perfect movies & before that the Twilight movies. [In Pitch Perfect 2, PTX plays a rival group from Canada in the same competetition.] 2: The person with the rocket drawn onto him is Todrick Hall. If you don't know him he's a singer from the same town as PTX's Trio. A few years older than them but knew them all through local theater stuff. I highly recommend The Wizard of Ahhhs, a project he concieved which stars PTX & himself.

PTX has a huge, loyal fanbase that they always show appreciation to all the time. They were dropped by the record company when it came under new management that didn't know what to do with them since a cappella wasn't marketable (!) They built themselves on KZbin until another label under Sony found that they were, indeed, marketable (ya think?!) They know the power their fans gave to them and never forget that support.

Filmed all over Los Angeles and having put the word out to fans to send in their video clips, they put this one together. And the ending part happened because word went out on Twitter and IG that PTX was doing a video shoot at this pier. You can see how many showed up. And the scenes in the roller skating rink were a nod to Avi, whose first job as a teen in Visalia, California was working in a roller rink, where he worked to save up to buy his first acoustic guitar (which he still plays out on his solo tours).

Thanks for sharing your experience with me, this is one of those songs that you put on your playlist and you always make sure that you hear it once a day. It’s a great driving song, housework song, and dancing in your underwear song. I think that the biggest compliment you can give to a musician, is to dance around to their song half naked (with support in the right places of course) in your house, by yourself, singing at the top of your lungs. Yes lots of celebs who are Pentatonix fans took part in the video. I love that they adore their fans and are so grateful to them. When they had the celebration for unveiling their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, that's what they all said - that they wouldn't be there without their fans. This is one of their best originals in my opinion, my favourite is Love Again though which is EDM and has an alien/Steampunk vibe!

Hailee Steinfeld is the celebrity you said 'who is THAT' for and I hear you! She has some amazing songs too, criminally underrated. On my daily playlist (Rock Bottom and Starving in particular) Not sure if anyone else called it out but the 5 on the porch right after Kevin says 'human 808' is an homage to their White Winter Hymnal cover, where they sit in the woods and do a complicated series of percussion things with their hands! That's a blast, you should check it out!
