@@kebi7792 Austria protected the Polish culture and allowed the use of its local language in administration and education. I don't know why or how the Commonwealth was partidioned but Austria was no enemy to Poland. Jan Sobiesky lead the efforst relieve Vienna when the Turks attacked. Translethania had its problems ( magyarisation ) but in the 19th and 20th century the Empire at large depended on cooperation. Austria made mistakes. We should not forget that. But it was not incapable of doing the right thing and in fact, did act correctly. The mistakes and disadvantages should not compell us to forget what was good.

My grandfather was in the austro-Hungarian army. He was ethic serbian. he raised white horses which he gave to the army. My mothers family fled to usa before i was born. I am. 83 now and resident of Czechia the one country never bombed. 2024 christmas in mariansky lazne in 2024 is like it was in 1910 when it was austria. ❤
