She has to be pretty screwed up to kill someone because she couldn't control her jealousy and her emotions. And so she effectively ended two lives--the victim's and her own. She could have just dumped her lame boyfriend.

For the last time, this isn’t about the man. Very likely she has BPD. Most women naturally have borderline traits (fear of abandonment, drama, etc) but they have some logic circuit left that regulate their behavior. But women with BPD don’t have the mechanisms to regulate their behavior so when they flip out all hell breaks loose. I recommend watching the movie Fatal Attraction. The character Alex Forest is a great example of a female with full blown BPD…

When is her sister going to be tried as an accessory to the federal crimes she committed when she handed her sister her passport and access to funds, harbored her and aided in her flight out of the country? I don’t think she cooperated in the search for her sister in spite of knowing her location?
@drummer7006

This is an excellent question. However, the official narrative is that KA "stole" the passport from her sister. Even Prosecutor Rickey Jones used those words. My supposition is that KA didn't want to throw her sister under the bus, so they may have developed the "stole the passport" story, where Christine could use plausible deniability.

There is a picture of KA right after the sentence in the Austin Statesmen newspaper as she is being led away by the police. I have followed this case, and while not an expert, it appears that KA in incapable of showing emotion. She reminds me very much of the Manson girls, who waited until they were in their 60s and 70s before they expressed any remorse. Some of the Manson girls died in prison, some are still in prison, and one was paroled this year. KA's first possible parole hearing is in 2053. She will be 65-years old. I can't imagine she'll be released.

@@GH-oi2jf She won't even be eligibile for parole until she is about 65 or so. Even then, she'll likely not be granted parole, due to her escape attempt, and I'll be surprised if she ever shows the remorse and self accountability required to be set free.

Kaitlin Armstrong is not an unattractive lady. She could have accepted the rejection and moved on with her life. She would have found someone else. But no. Now Moria "Mo" Wilson, a vibrant young woman, is dead, leaving her family to grieve for her for the rest of their lives. And her killer is going to spend the rest of her life locked up in a concrete box because she couldn't handle rejection. What a tragic waste.

I’ve seen serial killers get far less time.. why is this case so exceptional? I just watched a serial killer get 17 yrs with the possibility of parole. 90years??
@cmsmhp
@cmsmhp 8 ай бұрын
Well, I haven't heard of any "serial killers" who got less than 20 years, with parole...but supposing that actually happened, I think most reasonable people would think that such a sentence would be far too light for some who committed multiple first-degree murderers in succession. So it's kind of silly for you to declare this woman's sentence as "exceptional" based on that case - which sounds FAR more exceptional. Instead of picking out some extreme example, you would bolster your case with more of an apples-to-apples comparison - i.e., a similar case where premeditated murder occurred within a love triangle or some situation akin to the one Armstrong was in. And if you see cases of one or more killers getting significantly less time, then use those. As far as this sentencing being exceptional...it's not a life sentence, and she will be eligible for parole. There are plenty of first-degree murders out there that ended with a life-without-parole sentence. Chances are, many of those sentences were more exceptional than Armstrong's. The case itself was unusual due to the lengths Armstrong went to try to get away - the borrowing of her sister's passport, the rhinoplasty, and then the escape attempt later. All of that plus the lack of any expressed remorse likely removed most, if not all, mitigating factors that could have lessened her sentence.

I would like to state this: Shame to all of the commenters out there blaming Colin Strickland! He is also a victim of this dangerous manipulative sociopath! I'm sorry for him that he did not have the strength to get rid of this monster when clearly he saw the signs! What she did is a form of domestic violence. She stalked and manipulated him. He met her on a dating app. She was manipulative, control and stalked him. Bottom line if he was point blank honest and ended it, she still would have murdered MO or any other girl he was with because she is a predator! She's sick and she's evil. It's beyond scary! This has ZERO to to with love, it's about control!

Disagree. She has the opportunity to do less, since she has parole. If she becomes a model prisoner, owns up to what she did and holds herself accountable, she very well could be set free well before 90 years. But thus far, she has shown no remorse and has tried to flee multiple times. Those are aggravating factors which likely added some time to the normal sentence here.
