I ordered one through your link. Thank you for showing us this. I don't have anything like it . I believe that I can find a use for it in model railroading.

The torque test is brilliant. Love it. I missed the little working mat when I was first opening mine, but it's nice to have.

For a torque test you could use one of those scales on which you can hang stuff used to weigh luggage.

Batch interface?? (@5:34) Speaking as a Dad, and with Father's Day approaching, I'd say that would be a fine gift for the occasion.

Looks useful, and better than the other on I have. So I ordered one. Thanks

To measure the torque, you need to measure the weight and measure the radius of the bit, then multiply the two together. For simplicity, let the string wind around the largest nut driver bit, not the smaller and hexagonal bit.

Was that "pointy thing" a shout out to magdad 357? Nice kit, I think it'll come in handy. Order to follow. Thanks for pointing it out.

That seems nice layout with clearly marked bit holders. I have a similar driver (wowstick) that is nonadjustable 0.2 Nm specified. I really like that when there are a zillion screws to get out. It is easy to stall out with hand. Weight with lever or scale pushed with a lever are the usual methods to measure torque. That one seems to have quite some punch for a small driver! Sometimes I need to hand assist to get tight screws opening with Wowstick. I think I'll give this one a try. At least I'll have a backup with I've misplaced my wowstick and some more bits to loose. :D

Just received mine today. Great set! Feels odd though that low torque is low speed and high torque is high speed. Wish you could set this separately.
@tinygriffy
@tinygriffy Жыл бұрын
Would be nice if those also had a high speed mode, for drilling and milling.. like small up to 2 mm or so holes in PCB Material or Aluminium and such. If the shaft is not turning maybe a little addon gearbox and a set screw could do it.. built in would be really nice though. ;)

I never thought I’d use an electric micro screwdriver, I thought they were a bit gimmicky, I've plenty of screwdrivers and I have a 12v electric screwdriver. Then my sister bought me one for my birthday a fortnight ago and I've not picked up a manual screwdriver since. Mine isn’t a Kaiweets but this looks like they’re out to give iFixit a run for their money.

The list of bits is nearly complete which is nice but there are some odd bits in this kit. FS might mean "full size" blade? Does PB mean prybar? Then there are the bits which can't be meant for actually turning; the PB, SIM and Conical Needle bits. Does anyone know what FS means or what PB is for?

Love what you did for the demo, Just thinking outside the box as an all-round tool it would be nice to have a small chuck for some small drill bits ?? keep up the vids there awesome :)

Yeah, same thought.. a micro chuck for small drills or endmills would be nice.. especially if you etch your own PCBs and have to drill vias or something, or for burnt up trace or dirt removal from PCBs.. ;)

Can you swap the battery in this driver? Imagine that a driver to fix things that you can not fix. Can you use the bits more than twice or will they round off and break like all cheap chrome bits do?
@pileofstuff
@pileofstuff Жыл бұрын
These bits seem to be a harder material than what comes with the cheap screwdrivers.

Impressive torque. I think your test method is hard to beat for simplicity. Maybe attatch an armature and have it press down on a scale would give us a number like some servos for example a 4 cm armature would provide x number of grams of force.Thanks Kent. Take care.

Good idea. Maybe I should get my hands on a strain gauge and make an arduino project out of it!

That’s how torque is defined, the ability to apply a specified force in Newtons at a specified radius in meters from an axis. Measure the radius of the shaft the fishing line was wrapped around, do the math per the claimed specs and you should be able to lift the mass that results from the math.

I wonder how hadrd it would be to take apart if you needed to replace chargable battery

I assume there is a non-destructive way to take it apart, but it's not obvious.

Hmmm, the LEDs on my unit are constantly lit (only shimmering but clearly visible) when not in use. Not immediately after use but when I check back after a while. This has to be draining the battery and doesn't seem right. Anyone else having the same problem? Looks like there's some power leaking through the LEDs.
@pileofstuff
@pileofstuff Жыл бұрын
I didn't experience that with mine.
