i just finished watching your 'Soldering for Beginners' video where you use that cheapo iron to demonstrate technique. i recently had a problem in the start button on my motorcycle where the wire that provides power to the headlights when you turn the ignition on broke clean off! between me and my buddy we managed to solder the wire back onto the tiny contact point and got the lights working again but I'm sure it's gonna break again so next time I'll know how to fix it properly! we did so many things wrong lol! new sub here btw❤😊

The big issue with a lot of the USB-C irons is lack of grounded PD power supplys so they are not ESD safe disqualifying it from being "high quality" , I run a dedicated grounding line on a lug off my PINCEL V1 and V2 irons as there is a back screw but you can also ground tap a USB-C cable at the power supply end, I dont think I will ever go for a portable iron that is lacking in grounding lugs, or "hot swap" abbility its just too handy to have a twist of a thumb screw pop and drop a hot tip onto a silicone mat and pop an new one in while its at full temp.

A smart soldering iron? So now I have to install a 5GB update before I can use it, in addition to the paid subscription for solder! 😂

The Kaiweets website says it's "smart", the box says it's "intelligent", but my Turing tests failed to show any sentience in the soldering iron.
