I am looking to get into soldering for video gaming and such. Would you take this one for 42.99 or the 939D+ for 53.99? I LOVE what the 926 comes with compared too the 939 but the 939 is rated a bit higher so I am just not sure xD
@engineeringgarage2993
@engineeringgarage2993 10 ай бұрын
The 939D+ is more of a production soldering iron made for someone that solders for hours at a time many days a week. It's big benefit is a heavy base, comfort grip and replaceable iron assembly. For those starting out I think the 926 offers better features & more accessories for the money. I'd use that $10 difference to purchase a brass cleaning wire ball , tip tin and rosin kit. And maybe kick in some extra cash and pick up one of those $7.99 Silicone soldering mats and save your work top from burns/melting.

I bought the YiHUA which has a built-in air gun as well. It's brilliant and electrically safe, was shipped with a compliant UK plug and correctly rated fuse, the earth is connected to all the exposed metal. These are certainly OK but they're nowhere near as good as the cartridge-tip style ones which heat up in three seconds or something. YiHua do have better tips than the ones they ship with the stations, I already wore out a couple of tips on mine but I bought some new ones and they're good.

Honestly don’t waste your time buying the one in the video, it’s old and basic technology, heating element separate to the tip, the ones I mentioned use heating element in the tip, some can heat up in 3 seconds, they’ve come down in price so you can pick one up as cheap as 40usd for the ones that use t12 tips, they take around 10 seconds to heat up but the ones on the bottom of the list use jbc type tips and they heat up in a few seconds, you can buy replacement tips for cheap as there’s lots of brands making the tips now, the tips range for them are excellent, all shapes and sizes available, if you want one for micro soldering only then I can tell you some that use t115 tips which heat up in 1-2 seconds, the Aifen A2 is compatible with t115 handle as there’s 3 options so you can use the station and have 2 handles but can only use one at a time
