I never would have expected Kaiweets to be so innovative and try to do something so radically different. As soon as I saw the first video on this multi meter, I ordered one post haste. For what you pay for this multi meter, you get a fabulous tool. There is just so much you can do with it and what a great display. I have no complaint about the lead location. You aimed the plugs down so you could not lay the meter on it's back. I aim the plugs up and have no issue what so ever with them. Yes, my Fluke has the plugs on the front face of the meter and that is nice. The plug location on this meter is no big deal for me. I never saw it as an issue. Good video, thanks for posting it. Barry

Hi. I my Kaiweets KM-601 just arrived (it's the rebranded Habotest HT116, not sure if they have the same build quality). Is it really like that when it's in Auto/Smart Mode- if I measure a capacitor, it automatically uses the Ohms which is wrong coz' that's for resistors. Also is this acceptable tolerance, they're capacitors that were slightly used (just minutes) but they're not exactly branded: 1) 330uF but it reads 348.4uF 2) 100uF but it reads 93.52uF 3) 470uF but it read 480.9 uF 4) 33uF but it reads 38uF 5) 680uF but reads 1.024mF (milliFarads) *I'm not sure if this capacitor is still working even though it's just slightly used 6) 100uF but reads 93.51uF 7) 1000uF but reads 988uF For the Resistor test (the bands are starting from the left are: yellow, violet, brown and far from the 3 is gold, it's chunky resistor used for discharging): 470ohms (+/- 5%) but reads 472ohms I did initially use three 1.2v Eneloop recharchegables but that didn't seem enough voltage, I switch to fairly used AAA non-rechargeable batteries which had this charge 1.5, 1.5 & another 1.490v (batteries are now at 1.490v X-D after a hour of use) What's the best AAA battery for this? Eveready's non-rechargeable lithium ones or rechargeable lithium from 1.5v non-branded chinese rechargeable lithium (Kaizen brand= it's seems it copied Smartools)? Thank you. Please advise if I should refund this if the readings are too far from the values. God bless, Rev. 21:4

The readings look good 👍 Capacitance is never spot on but it's definitely in spec. Btw the Smart/Auto mode doesn't work in Capacitance hence the resistance display. Hello Darren! Thanks, as always, for your always spot-on and "fluff-less", professional reviews of the barrage of test gear available today. I personally am not a big fan of "smart meters" however, this Kaiweets meter has me reconsidering, what with a dedicated Auto Power Off bypass switch which is just simply AWESOME! Too many digital VOM manufacturers' meters seem to always shut off on me right while I am in the middle of troubleshooting, and I find myself getting "time out" meter anxiety... Really! If you know what I mean then you have probably been there yourself my friend!. I end up rushing to troubleshoot a circuit because I know that any second the darn meter is going to beep and turn off on me. I really despise that and here KAIWEETS is showing all of the other manufacturers: Hey! that Auto Power Off feature is really flipp'in annoying at times and "lets make it EASY to deactivate it, right... Why not? I am tempted to get one of these little beauties JUST because of this SUPER thoughtful and useful feature. Honestly, the power consumption of these newer VOMs is so low, the APO feature should just be OFF by default, and be a feature that the user can activate, if they are that worried about the $2.50 worth of household batteries, getting depleted a little sooner/faster. Hey, just my $0.02 opinion buddy. I hope that you are doing well Darren and thank you again for this valuable test equipment evaluation service, which you provide for all of us. Love ya man! Fred

I really like the case, I tend to be hard on my meters with the leads getting sloppy in the connection, this becomes my number one fail point. (As well as breaking the screen), I like the way this looks, far more like a phone, place to put the test leads. Since I don't like to carry too much extra stuff around, it falls out, I have to shove it someplace the thermal couple will probably get lost, so when I go to test that thermal glass heating oven I am building I will have trouble finding it. Cable management, different banana plugins, every device having different leads. I will get organized one of these days when someone designs something extremely universal.

I have yet to see your review but I also have this meter and I have to say this. Beautiful display but the continuity mode sucks. Even with good gold probes and meter set to continuity mode not auto. If you do cell and computer repair avoid this one. Needs a stand. Flashlight is weak. Probes on bottom are ok but I think I prefer them on front especially with no stand.

Calling the meter Cheap O is probably frowned upon by the company.

Not really..it's actually a good thing! Why spend more than you really need to..! CHEAP-O Multimeters have been a lifesaver for many and it has absolutely nothing to do with quality or performance! 😃👍
