Now this is amazing, and i love that sega/sonic team is showing that even sonic and shadow don’t need their super forms to defeat powerful foes, and kingdom valley is like a trip down to memory lane, and I can’t wait to fight Metal Overlord again. It’ll be just like the “Battle for Angel Island Arc”.

@@EonNite What makes me hype about Shadow’s growth, here, isn’t that he defeated Metal Overlord without a super form. It’s that he SOLOED Metal Overlord, previously a final boss from a game heavily focused on the concept of teamwork, without a super form, when he and eight other people could at best in the original game soften it up for Super Team Sonic to finish off. Say what you will about his Doom Powers, they are very busted.

@@bluephoenix_z3364 I do not know! Unfortunately, I haven't read either the Archie or IDW comics. But he probably didn't have the Doom Powers to surf on water, yet. Also, during the first outbreak of Metal Overlord, Shadow was operating with amnesia, possibly didn't realize he no longer needed a Chaos Emerald to use Chaos Control, and he didn't have the creative ways to weaponize it as he does in this fight. Also, it's been established that while powerful, Metal Sonic's copies of the Heroes cast's powers were neither perfect nor superior to the original powers, so Metal Sonic's version of Chaos Control pales in comparison to Shadow's, which is reflected in this fight.

In sonic Heroes 12 characters worked together to stop metal overlord aka Metal Sonic and now Shadow Takes on him in 1 vs 1 fight and destroyed him. It's insane how strong shadow got. He proved why he is the ultimate Lifeform.

The revamp of Kingdom Valley looks beautiful & I love how Shadow gets to humble his grandson without the need of a super form. Tbh Shadow after his “death” at the end of SA2B & then again after fighting Mephiles has been stronger than ever. I know we got to see him embarrass a pre-phantom ruby Infinite but even against the power of hyperillusions/hallucinations I’m sure he stomps that out too.
