Why would he make it into the HoF? He averaged under 9 points a game for his career. He was a good defender and all, but he was luck to play for the Lakers with Kareem and Magic. He was easily replaceable. That would be like saying Derek Fisher should be in the HoF.

@@Daniel_AurA He was an elite defensive player that could guard mutiple positions at a high level. Cooper was Defensive Player of the year in 1987 and could have won it a few other years. Larry Bird said nobody guarded him like Cooper. Offensively he morphed from a typical wingman, fill the lane catching CoopaLoops to a very good ball handler who was the backup point guard through the 80s. Then he developed into one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. They needed Cooper for every title they won. In many ways Coop was the heart and soul of the team. A glue guy. I'd say the Lakers were lucky to have him not the other way around. I would vote yes on the Hall of Fame.

Facts. Such s vital & integral Component in The Laker Cog. Prob the greatest 6Fh man ever. Could of started on any team. He was a joy to watch & taught us all so much about teamwork, & sacrifice for the betterment of The Team as a whole!

@@Daniel_AurA you’re silly. Are you really comparing fisher to copper? Copper was a top five defender of his era. Your statement is blatant ignorance, he wouldn’t have been a finalist for the hall of fame this year if he was at the lower level of Derek fisher.

Next year it looks like for Coop in the HOF! This is just before they headed out to Maui for their 'Showtime Reunion' where they spent about a week! There are clips of the reunion on KZbin for those of you interested! They all had a blast together!

Nothing in sports compares to being able to watch this coach, these players, with the Showtime Lakers, Great Western Forum, Inglewood, CA. My father worked for the city. As kids, we got a few games--not many--courtside when these Lakers would come out of the lock room at the old Fabulous Forum. True Champions.

But, yeah,...maybe if you can snag a teammates or two and talk about the reunion, we would love it! Thanks Kareem!

I was born in 68 but I read & learned the History of The 60s via The Good Old Library at now closed down Lake Lavish Elementary in little tiny Salem, Or I escaped from their just 2 years ago & have been in LA sauce The Summer of 2020 Those books represented my education and a platform for learning that was different then any other kid in my school. I'd say dream sports at school. It became my passion and a vital form of escape that took me away from the struggle/s of The 70s My Brother & Sister were adopted for a period of like 6-8 years. My Bro learned about Basketball & he placed it in my hands at a mere 5 years old. I think I leaned toward hoops, baseball, then football. I think reading The Jerry Kramer Book of The Packers really intrigued me. I developed a fondness for Coaches via that book and Coach Lombardi. After reading that book the idea of playing & practicing Football became much more paramount but never took the place of Basketball. Special Note:: My Fav reads were Cap at Power memorial & UCLA then Magic & Larry took Center stage so on and so forth. From that point on I placed a lot of emphasis on playing & practicing Basketball..I'd play through a lack of energy pretending I was Larry while incorporating Magic & Isaiah. When I combined those 3 I became formidable and no one in my age group could hang with me. It was crazy. Such an honor & privilege to grow up in that Era. Wouldn't trade it in for anything in the world! Great Podcast. I prob enjoyed it as much as the 3 of you. I turn 54 and they said 4 years ago I'd need a new knee I'm 3 years. I started exploring options like weight loss. I lost 60 LBs in just 3 months & I'm feeling much better especially in The LA climate. Could not of done this in Oregon. Love Ya All. Continued Longevity, Health, Success! Cheers! Ttyl

Kareem’s views indisputably represent the overwhelming majority of the American public. Your legendary career on the court has been surpassed by your noteworthy contributions to society following your retirement as player - which are even more important and have been justifiably recognized for decades including receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, being a 5 time Columnist of the Year and having the NBA Social Justice Champion Award named in your honor. Thank you, Cap, for all that you continue to do by speaking out for marginalized minorities and keep making a difference! 💜💛
