Rob is taking the one thing out of context. Kakashi's Full speech to Rin is to show her that Obito died doing the only thing that he always wanted: protect her with his life. He also shows how shit he was compared to Obito. He didn't put the weight of his death on her, he says that so she (and everybody watching) can see that Obito is the true hero.

Japanese words can be translated to English words, but those English words might not have the same feeling or intent that the Japanese words meant. Not everything translates perfectly. Obito may have pushed Kakashi out of the way to save him but that is not what the line "He died trying to protect you" meant. It meant the action of intention and the convincing of Kakashi. Also, I think the point in this episode was Kakashi's character development, how he got his sharingan, how Obito died and how strong Minato really is.

So aside from the fact that he's among the strongest Jounins Alive in Konoha he is Very humble, laid back and strategic person.
