This one's a really memorable & loved film, but yeah Americans tend to think the first half is a little long. But it's a story of selfless love, and really funny a little later on (the chemistry between SRK and Saif is hilarious).

Kal Ho Naa Ho is a huge blockbuster mainstream movie with a mainstream director and A-list actors. It is NOT a cult classic. Cult classics from Bollywood are Udaan, Aamir, A Wednesday, No Smoking, Black Friday, Dev.D, Satya, Maqbool, Andaz Apna Apna, Ankhon Dekhi, Hera Pheri, Chupke Chupke, Padosan, Pyaasa, Gol Maal (1979). These movies were small budget, mostly debutant actors, lesser known directors at the time of the making, low to average box office performance, but loved and watched till this date (the pre-requisites of being a cult classic).

@@ajs8873 It was indeed a blockbuster at the time of its release. So I did use the term cult classic loosely... I meant to say that even after 20 years or so, this movie is still loved and remembered very fondly by a large fan base (and still requested a lot on reaction channels).

@@H____R the term ‘cult classic’ has an exact definition. Kal Ho Naa Ho isn’t a cult classic. Everyone knows about this movie. Cult classics are hidden gems; first loved and watched by a much smaller group of cinephiles and, later, over the years, gaining large appreciation, which initially wasn't received at the time of the release.

Songs are amazing these are one of the best songs in bollywood and it has hidden meaning as well. Naina aka Pretiy Zinta ( That's why Pretty women song suits well). Songs are long but to enjoy and dance it out that's classic bollywood to enjoy sometime between the movie (Like popcorn break washroom bream ot just dance to songs it's so funn)

Chakh de (srk) - he choaches girls hockey team to World Cup 2. Swades (srk) - he saves a Village by uniting them behind a common cause - electricity. Both of em' are his finest performances.

For context, during the Disco song, SRK's entire lower body was injured and he had gone through many surgeries. He was adviced to not even move, but he ended up doing that whole song. And he was in excruciating pain.

Srk is an over actor. Dialogue delivery is just awful. Like he has too much saliva in his mouth. There are better actors and better films if you back to the 70s and 80s.

He looks very unattractive to me. Big lips, dark with his smoking habit. Big fat nose, small beady eyes with dark circles. He looks worse now as he ages. Smoking has not been kind to his face.
