I actually live 5 mins from the school. I went there today and was able to walk around inaide the school and saw the wall where eleven came out of. You can still see things inside the school as well.

@@KalaInTheKingdom yea if you do get to go back. The door to the high-school side was open. You can see alot of props and the camera cue signs on the door inside and the classrooms they was in also. Go back if you can i was there yesterday

it wasn’t an abandoned mall. it was still open and everything just not popular at all so it always looked vacant. it was the perfect spot for this show to be filmed at bold fashioned look and stores just added things didn’t rebuild or dramatically change

Yep. We saw the big STARCOURT sign downstairs but they got mad because I was taking pictures before I realized there was a no filming sign.

@@Logansocial I got part of it on camera trying to sneak around them. Then we went around to the other side in that beauty master store and got a better look through the other side. They yelled at us though just for looking. I dont see why theh care so much though

Wow this is really cool! My town has a (pretty much dead) mall, and they’ve barely changed it since it opened so it has some s e r i o u s 80’s vibes, so whenever I go in there I always get reminded of Stranger Things 😹😹

(The mall actually opened around 1991, but they started building it in the mid 80’s so it was built with 80’s trends and fashion in mind)

This is awesome! But honestly, one thing i have noticed from alllll of the Stranger things location videos here on youtube is.... most of the places havent just been vacated, most have been completely ripped down inside, like interiors destroyed, outside redone or returned to normal, sold on to new companies. Also, Most of the buildings have been put back up for sale this time. They wasnt before, they were kept by the production company, so they could use them however they want whenever they want. Even two of the houses that the kids and families lived in have gone up for sale to actual residents now :( As a filmmaker myself who has worked on a few Okish size projects, I can tell you know, consistency, set design, continuity, are all massive MASSIVELY important. Sorry to say it but If there is a series 4 then it highly likely wont feature the lab, starcourt, the arcade, the school, which lets face it... is all the places we have come to love! I dont think there will be a ST series 4!

Sadly from what we were told they're going to be done after season 4 as of now. Its really sad but if you ever get the chance to see any of these places it really is an awesome experience.

They have everything blocked off because they're taking the props down. Most of it is down now, this was filmed yesterday and theres hardly anything left up except for what you see here. And they have security down there sadly.

Its owned by a production company and was transformed for some romantic comedy set at Christmas time.

@@KalaInTheKingdom the food court section of the mall, it's been used in several TV shows and movies like I Tonya. Stranger things made the area explode with traffic. They missed the cash cow by not opening it to the public. Clean up from the aftermath of the battle of starcout. Open all the stores with 80s merchandise, and have the food court function and people would of packed the place.

It just depends on personal preference I guess. If you love the show and you really just want to be where they were then totally! Or if you're close by. I probably wouldn't have made the trip if we werent in the area already.
