I studied affliction prepatch and have been playing it the whole expansion and I think absolute corruption is going to be a permanent talent in nearly all encounters including raid at this point. It takes away 2 separate dots (corruption and siphon life) you need to maintain on your target and you end up having the time to spam tons of shadowbolts if you are standing still. Guess what though all that shadowbolt time is mechanics time in reality so its better to have a simpler rotation. The best deathbolt use I have found outside the opener is to just pair it with PS. My standard combo is PS-UA-DB. The reason for this is PS loads a lot of DB damage and the GCD is ready to instantly deathbolt after the UA is done casting and I want the UA on target not only for its DB damage load but also its 10% modifier. DS: M also does considerably more ST damage (this is where you really start being able to spam shadowbolts). I will be talenting AC for all raid bosses and creeping death on anything with adds and DS: M on pure ST. Of course I will be open to changing once raid logs come out but in my mind SL needs to be like 10% more damage than AC to justify adding 2 separate additional DOTs to maintain to your rotation when you already have an outlet for any idle time in shadowbolt. Finally I think the key to good affliction DPS is to keep a UA rolling. Outside my opener I am attempting to spread all my UAs out to get the 10% damage bonus.

I agree. Havoc makes destro a bit more challenging to tune than their specs at times due to the nature of the spell. I feel after the changes havoc received in prepatch, there is some room for a buff in specific areas!

FIRST THING: PLAY WITH SUPREMACY!!! Open with Cataclysm + Infernal, confla, then adapt as following: - If you have an havoc target spawning soon dump all shards into CBs, then use havoc to rebuild em, do NOT CB into Havoc unless it's needed because the target is a priority kill, your goal is to build as many shards as you can to shoot more CBs. This means you'll be waiting on 2 confla charges before using Havoc if possible. - If you know it's just ST, just try to be efficient and shoot as many CBS as you can during infernal depending on fight mechanics. This includes knowing your haste procs and getting used to know if refreshing Immolate is worth, at times doing so will result in one less CB cast. This also applies to the Havoc scenario btw. - If you're playing with Dark Soul (why the heck would you do that? well if you're in a very well organized group that plans pulls and you can make good use of it, but still it's probably not the case) use it when infernal is at 20 seconds from ending. -Do NOT use Demonfire while Infernal is active! You should be able to shoot atleast 6 CBs during Infernal uptime, BTW in normal mythics you can use toys, i use a turnip bag when fighting bosses in the exterior as havoc target and to start fights with 5 shards at times^^ IT has 1 hr cd and there's prolly manyopbetter option but still it's a fun thing lol As soon as Infernal ends is time to use your Demonfire, then follow your normal ST rotation which consists in building shards and dumping em when near cap,the rotation you find on Icyveins.com is fine and you'll just adapt it to the encounter and situation. Remember that you can refresh Immolate 4 sec before it ends because, Pandemic. You wont get 2 infernals in one fight so if you use DS just use it on cd afterwards or line it up with an Havoc window. Notes: opening with Cataclysm if you know an add is spawning soon is not smart so open with Incinerate while tank runs to boss and follow with immolate and Infernal. Hope this helped, it's more an opening sequence than a ST rotation but the rotation itself is pretty dumb.

The infernal generation and depending on your crit and haste you can be come fairly capped out without dark soul and why wouldn't you run it thats a% to crit and CB damage on top of supremacy as crit increases chaos bolt dmg. ALSO you are quite noob if you only get 6 CB off. With all the above talents picked you can burst up to 20k ending around 10k if you have your rotation down.

I easily burst 24k and end fights at around 13k and can usually shoot 8 CBs (340 ilvl), my comment was meant for somebody with no experience... Dark Soul is an awful choice because without demonfire your damage on trash groups is shit, period. I do run it at times for fun and to ease some boss fights but still it's a bad choice and not very viable.

Thanks! My transmog is actually T3 from vanilla Naxxramas! There is not a whole lot that I changed within Threat Plates honestly but here is what I did. Healthbar View -> Look and Feel ->Smooth Bar Width: 130 Bar Height: 15 Castbar -> Check Show in Healthbar VIew Scale -> Minion and By status -> 100% for all four Hope it helps! You can access the Threat Plates UI by typing /tptp hitting enter in-game!

For the first time in a while.. while i was doing some mythic dungeons someone said "warlock is op" Lol.. playing as Demo and hearing that makes me happy.. Been playing Demo spec since Mop.. and it feels great to be doing so well specially spec'ed into doing Aoe damage mainly.. I almost always top the dps in any dungeon i do by a large lead as and i almost am equal with other spec's as in single target.

I still think Affliction will be the king. Don't lynch me yet, but high mythic+ and pushing mythic+ in legion was always capped on bosses, you can get through every trash pack even on fortified but the bosses become the issue and this is where affliction shines, the other specs don't even come close to the ST of affliction, and there are so many priority adds in mythics right now. Personal opinion.

I run Supremacy as Destro and the ST is just insane if you manage to handle it well, sadly it's hard to do so on a few bosses that are pure ST but any boss that allows you 1 havoc window usage with infernal up skyrockets your dps .

@@giacomobergonzi4906 no it's not I usually get 16 stacks in one boss fight. The infernal generation plus the 15 talent for x2 backdraft helps out extremely alot. The only downside to destro is the damn CD times the 3 mins on infernal is ridiculous

I don’t know if it worths to have 2 specs (affliction for raiding and destro for m+) because the stat priority change. But I think I’m gonna stick to affliction even destro feels better for m+. Hey there and thanks! The great thing about Destruction is that most if its stats are pretty close sim wise, so item level TYPICALLY wins. Aff might be a bit different but it should not be too hard maintaining multiple sets. Spot on with the aff vs dest for plus analysis as well!

I have been taking supremacy and haunt, mostly due to having devour magic on my fellhunter has been quite useful in groups that aren't the best for interrupts, especially in Temple and Tol dagor.

Yep! Having that spell lock is very important in a good bit of spots! If you do take Grim of Sac, it actually binds the spell lock to your character as well if you sac the felhunter!

I don't like Cataclysm but I have to use it, sadly. Burst is so strong upfront but your DPS fades into nothing. Then having to reapply Immolate to each target feels clunky. With F&B I feel better QoL because I'm able to keep never-ending Rain of Fire with enough shards to still fire off Chaos Bolts. Not to mention F&B also does a little bit of damage. If it hadn't been nerfed, it would have been a good choice of gameplay.

I'm surprised in some ways that you didn't mention grim of sup, since it has good synergy with crashing chaos which is our best trait atm on destro. Is it just too negligible to consider as it doesn't bring as much to trash pulls as the other talents?

Pretty much due to the fact that it is a talent tied directly into a 3 minute cooldown. While Infernal use on trash in mythic + is important, you gain a much more consistent amount of base damage with something like Grim of Sac or even Roaring Blaze. Grim of Sac also comes with your pets Command Demon ability being bound to the player once again, so that is another plus!

Hi, another awesome video thanks! Would you consider doing some videos where you commentate on decisions you make in dungeons? I find that even once I've watched videos for builds and rotations etc, its when you get thrown off the rotation and have to recover that I suffer the most and some decision making insight might be a big help? In my mythic group at the moment i more or less can't touch the mage's DPS and I'm not sure if that's just a tuning thing or whether I'm not doing things right. Inner demons really isn't viable with its current bug. The imps will sometimes only have 1 out during combat as well as the extra demons that can spawn are all level 110 and do 1/5th the damage they should. I'd recommend grimoire over it right now until they fix it

Problem with inner demons and netherportal is they are still both bugged, ID imps are fine but any other demons are still level 110 and netherportal all demons are 110 so do nothing at all for you dps wise

For destruction I strongly disagree with choosing Demonic Circle over Darkfury for a mythic+ dungeon environment. In M+ an AoE stun can be INCREDIBLY helpful to interrupt important enemy skills and mitigate group damage on important pulls, and having a shorter cooldown on that powerful tool adds a lot of utility for your group. Demonic Circle, by contrast, is difficult to utilize effectively on trash pulls since it requires significant setup time and isn't really necessary for trash mechanics. It can be useful for certain boss fights, but I haven't really seen any circumstances in BFA where it's necessary and where a Demonic Gateway won't do the same trick. You also mention affliction bringing more "utility" to groups than the other specs... What utility does affliction have that the other specs don't?

Yeah the level 75 row is sort of personal preference which is the reason why I did not mention that talent specifically. There are a good bit of fights where Demonic Circle can be used for some advantage but the same can be said for Darkfury on trash. As far as utility goes it mainly comes from the way Aff currently functions. It offer the best single target damage on trash packs out of all three specs and can harness resources from less important adds to DPS priority targets(with Darkglare, UA and Deathbolt) well. I would not be surprised if we saw certain strategies emerging in higher mythic + at some point where Vile Taint actually becomes an option at times. Even though it is only a 10 second slow, both Destruction and Demo don't have that as an option.

Affliction lock doesn't pad steal the same way destro does. Your overall will be less cuz the passive cleave from other classes will be higher since u will be dumping ur ua's into higher hp elites and letting the phantom buffed by haunt and contagion to rot the other elites. U will be killing the high hp targets faster and thus be clearing the dungeon faster. Affliction will also suck on a large pile of non elites but losing 2-3 seconds of burst aoe by not having the destro burst will be made up by killing high hp elites faster as well as the boss.

Why would you take sacrifice and forgo the purge from your fel hunter? Too much utility to give up. If you are concerned about your pet, set it to passive. It's dmg will matter little as you climb m+

Arcane Torrent functions in a very similar way and does not require you to have a pet. If you are in need of the purge however you can simply re-summon your pet for specific trash packs. Proper pet management is pretty important in mythic + though and I would not recommend setting your pet to passive.

What do you think about Fire and Brimstone? I'm not very good and Cataclysm often feels clunky to use, I get that I'm losing a lot by not having Immolate on all the targets instantly and applying them all separately wastes a lot of time, I will still apply it to priority targets in trash mobs (MOTHERLOAD as an example where there are 2 elites and several more normal mobs). I'm also wondering how DS: Instability compares on single target. Thanks, love the content as always!

Well I am not a huge fan of F&B personally. I think the damage it deals is a bit too low (even with the additional shard generation) and with Cataclysm being a single target gain as well, it makes it hard to justify F&B. As far as DS goes it will be a DPS gain over CDF on pure single target raid encounters! The build of Eradication, ID, Cataclysm, Supremacy and DS sims the highest for myself, about 300 DPS ahead of a CDF build!

Yep! Haunt will 100% win on ST encounters! You can also use Haunt on trash packs with priority targets or just specific targets in general. It just caters to the play style of current aff much more than Sac does at this point.

+Kalamazi Hi, I hope you can help me out. I try to set up a Weakaura that Agony has a glowing frame around it when it is at about 5 sec. left on the target. But I want the glow around the Agony debuff frame directly on the nameplates. I do not look for a standard bar of WA's to track all my stuff. It should just add a glowing frame on the agony debuff icon on the nameplats of the affected enemies. Background is to make it easy tracking when to refresh Agony in M+ group fights, since I often find myself missing the time to refresh in time. But if something is glowing I directly know... ok push it and refresh... I hope you can help me out. Cheers.

The most we can do with Threat Plates debuffs is make the icon flash when there is a certain remaining duration left sadly. If this is something you want to try however go to Widgets -> Auras -> Appearance and then at the bottom there is an option to flash when under a certain duration.

Ok, I installed Tidy PLates + Tide PLates Threat. But somethiung like "apperance" is not showing up for me under the point Auras EDIT: I cant evne get any Aura to be shown :-D

In game type /tptp then hit enter Then at the top of the interface that loads will be a tab named "Widgets". Click that and then select the "Auras" section off to the left side. Once you have done those two things select the "Auras" tab that appeared in the center of the interface and scroll down. You should see a special effects section where you can select the option!

Ahh I see what the issue it. Reading back over your post you installed tidy plates and not Threat Plates. Tidy plates is the older (no longer supported) version of Threat Plates. Grab Threat Plats and those steps should work for ya!

Secondary stats are still very high at 111 compared to 120 which is why he is doing more damage. It was a pretty large issue at the start of BFA with classes doing more damage at lower levels.

Yeah basically it's just scaling, it's the same kinda thing why a lvl 20 can outdps a lvl 60 in a lfg dungeon, it's just scaling and it will go down as you level.

Rain is typically worth it on 3 or more targets if havoc is on CD but only when it can finish the actual channel. At 5 or more target you should pretty much cast Rain over havoc barring their being a priority target or the mobs dying quickly. The Motherlode run at the end is older beta testing footage of havoc pre-nerf and with many of the mobs dying quickly I would imagine I was looking shards for the next pull.

At 5 or more targets you should cast Rain of Fire over Havoc even if it is off cooldown. If you have 3-4 targets you should cast Rain of Fire, but also use havoc when it is off CD!

Not done with the video yet but just wanted to ask, Why would you run CreepingD. with DB? you are now struggling to maximize the burst from DB. Do you run CD because it increases overall damage? & for destruction, I find it interesting you run cata & channel DF knowing destructions ST isn't as well off which is why Dark soul:Instability is so nice right now. I prefer running F&B for the Aoe spam of Rain of Fire. I am typically ALWAYS top damage in M0s right now overall and in most fights too. currently at 331 and I have been grabbing 345+ rogues/shamans/DH & mages. the only reason my aoe lacks is when the tank decides to pull mobs out of my RoF, but I guess that's why I run duo with a tank so they understand lol.

Yeah Creeping Death is the best choice when it comes to mythic + and mostly every situation where you are running AC. Its interaction with how AC works is strong while also being very strong with your other dots as well. Soul Conduit is undertuned and Dark Soul only provides a DPS increase when it is off CD which is once out of every few trash pulls in mythic +. CD offers a passive, permanent DPS increase throughout which is why it is so strong. Ad far as Destruction goes, Cataclysm is both a DPS gain on pure single target encounters as well as AOE situation and with it also applying immolate to all the targets, leads to very strong shard generation. The sequence of Cataclysm into CDF is very strong both for AOE and ST situations. I wish that F&B dealt more than 60% damage to the surrounding mobs, but sadly I feel it is still a bit undertuned right now (and is also not a single target DPS gain like Cataclysm).

@@Kalamaziiis that your final opinion or have you tried the DS build? the ST increase when you have DS up with x5 UA agony at 15 stacks if you run the talent corruption and Phantom singularity timed with darkglare and a deathbolt you can have an insane dps spike with the haste increasing the ticks of your dots. I always get massive deathbolts ranging from 35k-100k the crits are extremely RNG. Aside from all that nobody touches me on St in boss fights or cleave the only ones who maybe get close are ret pallies outlaw/assass rogues and frost mages. On massive mob pulls Phantom singularity does wonders and if you are good at upkeeping your dots you still do 6-10k dpa

Just remember Affliction's state in EN... our time to shine doesn't come until later in the xpac. We are averaging 13% haste and 40% mastery atm. When we're back to 30% haste and 120%+ mastery, our scaling is ungodly, thanks to many things feeding off of DoT dmg (haunt/UA buff/Deathbolt/DL). Patience is always key with Aff as we always ride from the ashes, in new xpacs and on meters haha

Healthbar View -> Look and Feel ->Smooth Bar Width: 130 Bar Height: 15 Castbar -> Check Show in Healthbar VIew Scale -> Minion and By status -> 100% for all four Hope it helps! You can access the Threat Plates UI by typing /tptp hitting enter in-game!

It does a good bit of damage! The problem with Sup is that it is a talent tied to a 3 minute cooldown. I do enjoy using the talent a good bit however and it is not massive difference so if it is what you desire, go for it!

For affliction I prefer grimoire of sacrifice, the significantly better aoe helps aff locks to be relevant during the dungeon trash. Also I can't decide between phantom singularity and seed of corruption. I know seed got nerfed but if phantom is on CD you're just sitting with your dick in your hand, dps wise. PS is nice for bosses, but I think seed is definitely a competitive choice

There are times where you will want to hold PS for the next pack if the current one is not too large/threatening or dying too quickly. Seed will provide a bit more DPS on large trash packs, but PS offers a great deal of versatility on boss encounters which is something that seed cannot sadly. Either way if it is working for you I am glad to gear it!

That’s funny so i use my infernal on trash did you forget that has a kinda long ass cool down witch you reall need him in boss fight so i dont say that the rotation is wrong all am saying i rather save it for boss then to use it on trash and wait for a long ass time for it to come back up
