@@IndiRossi "Brown Sahebs" ruled the roost in the education sector in India for a long time. They still do. Not easy to get rid of them. So, selective history was and is being taught in Indian schools. Mainly glorifying the the many barbaric invaders, looters and rapists who ruled India for the better part of last thousand years. So a logical and comprehensive history of India is still work in the making. Kalaripyattu as a martial form originated in a small area of southern India prior to the Invaders. Legend has it that one of the gurus sent his disciples to China foreseeing the fact the Shaolin temple would be under threat. Facinating story. There are many versions of it. You should look it up. People learn from other society and once ahead, and than claimed everything belongs to them. Funny right, even the name given by tamialan, the word Malayalam originated from the words mala, meaning "mountain", and alam, meaning "region" or "-ship" (as in "township"); Malayalam thus translates directly as "the mountain region." The term originally referred to the land of the Chera dynasty , and only later became the name of its language. Tamilan not good in marketing.
