Players who start when all chapters are out will receive precisely that experience. I don't see the problem. Same with streaming. I will find a show long after it's aired, maybe on DVD at a secondhand store. I'm ruining nothing by not forcing myself to only watch one episode a week when I can instead make use of an empty afternoon. What should streaming services do, gate users to one episode per week once a series is out?

1:30 I hate binge content with a passion. I will absolutely take weekly releases. I remember hearing someone chat about how having fandom content surrounding a piece of work is harder and harder now. As people will often just watch/read all at once and then make it impossible for people to engage with said fandom unless they are up to speed. I think we need to just indefinitely keep the weekly drop method. It is so much healthier and it keeps the piece of work in the public eye/more people are thinking about it for longer.
@NieroshaiTheSable2 жыл бұрын
There will ALWAYS be late arrivals. These arguments are based on feelings with no thought for practicality. Streaming sites function as archives. Once an episode lands, it stays. It is NOT tv, and we should stop expecting it to be.
@nerdoftheatre2 жыл бұрын
@@NieroshaiTheSable Streaming services function as archives until shows are pulled off their service. The only way to actually ensure that shows are being saved is to get physical copies of them. (DVDs of show, CDs of soundtrack.) So, while yes they function as archives, they can also be pulled off any minute. (Obviously depending on a plethora of other things too.)

My elbow has been making a popping sound since last night and I had the thought that it was just one of those inaudible things that i think i hear because it's part of me. So, I went to my lil brother and asked him to listen to it and tell me if he hears it. He nervously chuckled and said "yeah, I hear it. You can go ahead and stop that yesterday." I personally prefer binging to an extent, it allows me to set my own pace for watching, remember all of the named and locations, and not get bombared with misleading theories during breaks. It allows me to really get into a show in the same way I can get into a good book without having to wait a week for a bew chapter. But, for the sake of the creators who struggle to build a fan base with episode dumps and the people who enjoy savouring the wait and discussion between episodes, I think streaming services can work for everyone. People can enjoy their weekly releases and I know I won't be missing out on a show forever if I wait for a season to finish.

I don't want to theorise or read about the hints in the last chapter. I just want to spend the whole Saturday watching episode after episode with my SO. If I think about the content I will find all the plot holes and the things that don't make sense or were silly. I don't watch content to think. I watch content to enjoy the moment. I'm now forced to see the series weekly because crybabies and fans cannot shut up about theories and plot holes on the Internet and socializing has become a minefield of spoilers. I hate weekly release.

1:30 absolutely not. No. Give me back my ability to binge watch. Properly belongs on r/TIHI imo. PLENTY of other shows have the weekly or even biweekly episodic sections and the problem that has caused is tv shows that don't make any sense; Tv shows designed by a small hand full of people, released all at once, allows for people who can't catch a weekly thing and will not be able to keep up to enjoy something. Not a good change for everyone.
