What do you do if your hexies do not fit on the sides? Mine, are too big. I know I need to add some fabric to the side. This is my third ONBW, but my first panel one. I plan to get all my hexies sewn and putter on from there. For some reason, this fabric was so hard to cut in strips. My quilting friends say it has too much dye!? Thank you for video. I am forging a heading kinda a little fearful, but convinced I can do it.

I’m trying to do all four sides but finding I’m having to cut off so much from the top or bottom. Is there a trick to being able to do all four sides?

How did your panel size line up to the hexies? I missed something.

Curious why the panel has to be trimmed to such specific dimensions?
@Junctionfabric3 жыл бұрын
To make sure it fits with the sewn hexagons size.

I have been wanting to try this. My question is how do you know what size to trim the panel to?
@Junctionfabric4 жыл бұрын
The panel is trimmed to 24 1/2" x 39 1/2" approximately. I do not trim my panel until I have sewn a row together for the top and side. Then I trim to match what I have sewn. It is much easier to match the panel to the row then the row to the panel.

Interesting that you taught one technique, while your samples were made in another way. You have rows created in the demo, but your sample would have to constructed in diagonal rows to use your "method"!!!!! You made the sides first in your completed samples - then added the top and bottom.
