Hiromi is one of the gift from God... She is the best piano player ever im not used to say that for any musician but with her appearance every time she drives me crazy!!! She has so many techniques in a small piece phrases, feelings , dynamics dear God!!!!

God couldn't make that. That was just pure emotion, spit out all over that keyboard. I am not sure many people can experience what just happened there, in that room, her and her keyboard. Time just paused for her, as it was astonished.

All I hear is virtuosic technique and no voice." haha im used to go to concerts if there is no pandemic times. i listened to medeski martin and wood, to aziza mustafah zadeh, to avishai cohen, i was able to hear E.S.T 15 years ago in Leverkusen, i have some stuff in my vita, listened to some stars, lots of local musician and if it comes to EXACTLY YOUR POINT: she is just miles above everything i ever heard. the expression was so intense ... holy shit. the best moment in my life, by far! not in classical music, not in jazz, not in anything. she is the pure emotion, the pure explosion, the unstoppable overwhelming queen on the keys. she might be an inconspicious person, but if she sits on a piano, she is the pure fire. she became standing ovations from her very first piece to the end. it was her tour with voice, simon philips and anthony jackson, not even her old combo, which i like more (much better drummer).

Hiromi is no Paul McCartney in melody writing, and her fingers are sometimes faster than her harmonic invention (unlike the unequalled Art Tatum), but as its title suggests this is an interesting composition in several moods that Hiromi executes with her usual verve. I can't wait to see her perform live again.

I think this could easily be arranged into a metal song. Edit: why did I say easily? Def not easily. It has the bones of a metal song.
How, for the entirety of that 9 minutes and 18 seconds, you were able to maintain such an unbelievably high degree of ferocity eludes me. This is a colossal piece which must have taken legendary levels of dedication to perfect. I'm so thrilled to have heard this piece, thank you for emobodying excellence.

I don't think she spent one minute 'learning it' I think it was pure improvisation. If so, and I feel pretty confident about that, it's amazing.

Pures Gänsehautfeeling! Mein jazzverrückter Vater hatte sie als 90 Jähriger entdeckt und sie kurz vor seinem Tod mit Vorliebe gehört und ihre Videos mit mir geteilt, wofür ich ihm noch heute dankbar bin. Für mich eine der begnadetsten Pianistinnen/en!

I am so happy i saw Hiromi Live in Manchester. I hadn't actually heard of her previously until my friend invited me to her performance at Bridgewater hall. 3 months later i bought a new acoustic piano because i was that inspired. I think her works inspiring, and her technique is flawless

Exact same! I saw her with Stanley. Lark and Lenny White at Yoshi’s in Oakland; I also had no idea who she was at that time, but figured if those heavyweights are vouching for her (basically, half of Return To Forever), she must be good! I’ve seen her a few times since, and also chatted with her after a show - very nice in person! Would love to see her with Sonicbloom!

I hadn’t listened to Hiromi for a while and I’m blown away. You conjure such fantastic worlds with your music! You are a treasure of humanity! I wouldnt be surprised if multidimensional beings had our galaxy and time bookmarked so they can come listen to one of the most amazing phenomena in the space-time continuum

Such a talent. Always been a big fan of this ladies sheer brilliance and mastery at the keyboard. You’re only allowed to use the word prodigy in exceptional circumstances and this is one of them. The flow and control is other worldly..
