kali can be used against a fast moving opponent.. the demo may be slow..but in practice kali is much faster and sharp

very much the same yes the spaniards did change the name of it. Bahala na Escrima(To Strike), Kali, and many other styles have originated from the filipino fighting systems.

@Thaliador it depends on the style you practice, there are kali systems looking like silat and there are other kali styles that looks very different to silat.

I study Filipino Kali... it is awesome. Lots of fun, can be difficult, but I like the challenge :)

my instructor has trained with both leo gaje and dan inosanto and he said they are both brilliant kali men even dan inosanto says leo gaje is good

I agree with boner, we aren't children, picking fights with each other, but I also agree with mistersticks, and if estoca really feels that way, then he should have enough strength of character to back up his claims.

@Thaliador Kali and Silat Both have a large number of different "styles" or systems and in some of the systems, the techniques and concepts compliment each other vary well, I knowof many teachers that blend the two arts because they do compliment each other quite well. To say that kali and Silat are very different is Not completely true. many of the "techniques" look different but the "concepts are very simllar

I think people today have to think critically. While I don not question GT Gaje's skills in FMA, I have to question certain claims he has and continues to make. Claiming thier style as the "true kali" (not the "watered down" arnis or escrima) directly contradicts the fcat that PTK was once PTA (Pekiti Tirsia Arnis). The art itself is effective enough so that there isno need for this type of "hard sell."

Every time I view, any topic, within You tube, there is always, some type of racial slur. There is so much negative energy, generated through hate, it makes me wonder, if this very same energy, has caused, all of the crazy things, happening in this world.
