Great lesson! You never stop making the basics interesting. The detail in your explanations is one of the reasons you're such a great teacher. Thank you!

Dear Paul & Kali Center. After a couple months of training 2 days a week to supplement my kettlebell workouts, I am beginning to see some progress. My skill is improving and thanks to the complementary nature of kali and kettlebells, my shoulders have never felt stronger and better. Much obliged for helping me find the groove in Kali. Your instruction is top notch. I also like how you keep to the fundamentals, how well you articulate and how you never say "um, ah, uh, y'know." Those are filler words, as you well know, indicative of those who don't know what they're talking about. I will show my gratitude and support by regular visits to this type of free content, smashing the like button, and by making a purchase from time to time from your shop. Lastly, I'm sure others beside myself would be quite interested in your bio - where you grew up, family life, education, where you learned FMA, etc. Would you be so kind to make such a bio available?

The reverse angles are some of my favorite tools in sparring because they can be real tricky and unexpected. And I agree on training the full motion of each strike, because it essentially practices both the longer and shorter strike in one go, and when you do decide to go for shorter/tighter strikes, it's much easier to do because you already practiced the harder version.

They’re great angles! 🙏🏻👍🏻🤺

To me I think it is good to bait or to offer a solution when you are late and blocking the counter attack staying into your flow. It helps you to understand how break the flow to come back into your rhythm. A bit more than basics to me. The feeling is great. Surprisingly, my right hand on angle 3 does not have the same ability that my left one on doing the flip and uppercut.

Paul, many thanks for another one of your excellent and informative videos. Paul, I really enjoy practicing Kali and how you are able to logically integrate the didactical teachings of Kali as you parallel those teachings with the clinical aspect thru " Drills / Hand to Hand Combat / Weapons Training " in a real time scenario of workouts that you instill in me. Paul, please keep them coming along.

Wow! There are so many different ways to strike with the bolo, I never thought of these. Although I will have to really focus on the reverse 2 so it doesn't become my 'Van Gogh' move. I love Kali!!!!!!

Follow-up question. I can see the practical application of the angle 1 and 2 and reverse angles for each, but can’t visualize the application of the reverse 3 and 4 - i would assume at the corto range but just can’t find the application save maybe the reverse 4 when in corto range switching into an uppercut supporting with the other hand?

Great video. I'm just sitting and watching video for much of today. Movement is not the best idea. I did 4,000+ kicks yesterday during my repetitions and I am resting most of the day, enjoying content, listening to music, playing video games, and just staying off my feet, except to do the occasional simple exercises that will make my exercise hangover go away. Maybe the occasional lunge or stretch. Heavy movement might not even be an option until after 4:00.
