Those prices are pretty high. You could be born and raised in the area, and yet find yourself priced out when you want to buy a home.

Residential property taxes are about $6k a year for a one-acre property. Cost of living is pricing many locals out. This will be Aspen soon. Only the rich will be able to live here.

Many buyers wanna just pay in the 400,000 dollar range but ,expect those houses to be brand new like a $ 600.000 to $ 700,000 house that is not how it goes...especially in Kalispell Mt.or any other town in Montana for that matter, Houses for $ 400,000 - $ 550,000 could very well need certain fixing or upgrading. Lake County may be a better alternative for some buyers .

The developers from Texas and Florida, and the numerous out-of-state or newly arrived real estate agents are ruining what was once a great place. Now - tons of traffic, urban sprawl, our first-ever drive-by shooting, murders, and crime overall has escalated. Wells on the south side are compromised thanks to development, and Kalispell lacks the infrastructure to support all of this - so here comes massive tax increases to support a water-treatment plant. Homelessness and drug use has escalated - as has the suicides. All while ruining our quality of life, real estate agents like this one state "make an informed decision on your REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT." Notice he doesn't address if you actually want to live here? They all want you to buy million-dollar homes so you can rent them to rich elites who poison our skies daily with their private jets. Either you are a part of the community or you are an outsider determined to destroy it. So far, many born here have only seen the destroyers.

I think ppl who own vacation homes should have to pay more in taxes since there nice home they stay in for 3 months raised mine. I live in summer retreat. There all stuck up when they are here and think they own the whole town. **** *** to them. I speak for all Montanans.. ppl are being pushed out cause of the cost of living here lately. Also thanks to Biden the market is starting to crash. Banks are taking over a lot more properties lately for resale. House market is not fair by any means. Inflation from you know who. Housing market did great when trump was in office. Everybody starting buying, now ppl owe more then what it's worth and can't afford it.. I'm barely getting by. You need to make $100k a year or more to live here. I make $130k a year and still struggle. We decided to build and its way cheaper but not all can qualify or are do it yourself kinda ppl. So do your research. Definitely do your research.
