Kalitta Charters II end of Boeing 727 Operations

On 5th April 2024 Kalitta ended 20 years of Boeing 727 operations.
Boeing 727-264F/W N729CK flew its short final flight of 51 minutes from Detroit Willow-Run Airport, Ypsilanti (KYIP) to Oscoda-Wurtsmith (KOSC).

I saw these quite a bit, however it’s been years since I was close to one. I was going to make a trip down to Willow Run a few days after they ended up stopping operations, that timing…💔 Even though the IFL 727s at PTK are still some of my favorite, these arguably were the prettiest. At least I got to see them up close even though not recently.

It seems it's equipped with a 'hush-kit'. Seems logical. It wouldn't otherwise be allowed to land or depart from almost any airport, anywhere. These things were LOUD, compared to today's engines.
