Deepika's character is the resident of the complex unlike Prabhas' Bhairava or Mr. Bachchan's Aswatthama. The color of the movie is gray and pale and that's obviously the conscious choice for a 'dystopian cinema'. It was supposed to make audience feel that pathetic situation of human civilization. Supreme Yaskin the Lord/King of the complex has accumulated all the environmental resources from Kashi. There's no water, no trees. That's why they work very hard to get units from complex in order to survive. That portrays the class conflict. (In Mahabharata there was caste conflict.) As you mentioned, languages are same and the names of the cities are same. It is to connect today's audience to the old tales and myths along with the fantasy of future. And, the director connected it to Mahabharata. That is what he wanted to tell. You can't tell or order any storyteller to tell this only or that only. But, as a critic your duty is to analyse if there are some justifiable bases in those connections or not? After all, It is not fact but a fiction. And, with no doubts is based on myths.

Honestly I liked the movie in terms of concept and atmosphere created, visually it is pleasing, HOWEVER, there is slight misfire in execution and it cannot emotionally engage the audience, the chaos is too much and too long, you get exhausted watching it. It could have been at least 30 minutes shorter. BUT i would be happy if this movie get supported because its high concept and vfx is amazing, and it genuinly looks like the director and team have worked really hard

Overall, if you want to understand Kalki Movie so you have to understand Mahabharat and don’t compare this movie with any movie.

@@BabliPrakash-us8lp I suppose rajsouth101 meant to say he jumped to catch her(not slipped), Ashwathama appeared to be having Super Human Strength but not great speed like DC's Flash. but his reflex's are good enough and he came to her rescue and missed the catch with few centimeters. Prabhas had a better approach and made a jump in time so the Ashwathama use him as some kind of spoon that can pick up the food (Deepika) with the extended handle. Movie is well made and I am dared to say even better than the most of Hollywood big budgets. Hinduism don't believe in magic creating out of nothing without a logic. people need to understand the intended meaning of Logic. Hinduism believes everything is god, Brahman. if magic is considered everything is magic. so the Avatar arrival needs to take the form of Human to give the message to Humanity. lets consider as he born to Pig can a piglet communicate better than a human with Human-centric world order?. how come god appear himself/herself or itself to the world like a human, why should he? we are part of the universal consciousness, we make gods and we make demons, Dharma Adharma, good and bad, Yin and Yang etc and many shades in between. I did observe many physics defying acts but these are not some of those. and dried Ganga in Canal form and the Patterns of sand submerged Temples gives away how much emphasis director and his team made an effort to make things all earth bound while the movie is about god. which creators take liberty in making to do whatever they want, like Ashwathama and Bairava's Concrete breaking headbutts. VFX is expensive and hear on any small improvement needs a nuanced research and double the current budget without people noticing much different. Nag Ashwin here to Roster in Indian and International Cinema Scene.
