@8:16ish - I don't consider them opposites, but maybe that's just me... When I began to listen to melodic death metal (probably The Karelian Isthmus by Amorphis), I often tended to view the vocals - lacking specific tones - to morph in my head "as-if" they kind of followed the melody of the instrumental themes. These days...still not sure. Maybe not opposed but mutually enhancing?

Something similar in the guitar and keyboard melodies that Sentenced used to have. You did one video from them but the quality was not guite up there so maybe they could have another go? End of the road was their final album and the title track is a great one to pick for next!

hey again duders! See it always goes back to the awesome musical country of finland.... I know you guys cover finnish metal bands very often...but noticed you have not got around to checking out the awesome fantasy themed battle metal band Battlelore....Also from Finland. I might have suggested them before, but trust me home slices... you guys are going to enjoy! Awesome song to start out with is "The War of Wrath" and in fact since i know you prefer live footage.. they shot a small show back in 2003 in at the Tavastasia Club, and it's a fine example of their energetic, epic on stage presence. also worth checking out from the same live perfomance is the song "Buccaneer's Inn"... in this song they give the little spritely girl oppurtune to show she actually can sing Enjoy

Probably my favorite on the new album, but you really need to try Hades by them, it is definitely one of their best songs ever (Even better than this one IMO). Also try Arion - Burn Your Ship

Good sirs, you should really check out band Duskmourn, (song The Frozen Mire has a lyric vid). It's melodic death metal with some folk elements, a bit similar to insomnium or wolfheart and I simply think they deserve more recognition. Check it out guys, you'll thank me later :)

I've been hoping for Sentenced - Neverlasting, but one finnish metal band that I don't know if anyone has suggested is Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus. Kalma is a synonym for kuolema(death). Kalmah doesn't really mean anything other than its related to the word death.
