Thank you Bhuchung La for interviewing my school principal (Kalsang La). It’s been decade since i graduated from Sambotta High School but I never knew the insight of my principal on lot of things like how the school was founded. He has always been a very inspiring person ever since my childhood days. Thank you Sir Kalsang for always inspiring us and guiding us towards light. 🙏😇

I think this conversation between Kalsang la and Kata la benefits lots of new parents or parents with their young children, how to bring up their child's future. The interview has lot of potential to learn so many things that parents are aware of. Keep up your great work, Kalsang La.May God bless you.

Such a nice conversation! i would trade anything to put genla'a mentality to many of tibetan teachers who think that corporal punishment is the only way to shape a child.

There is no hard-and-fast rule of transcribing Tibetan into English. Still there is a generally accepted way of doing it. Originally the school was called Sambodha. Later they changed it to Sambotta. If the school is named after Thonmi, the father of Tibetan grammar and literature, it should have been Sambhota. I don’t know Sambodha or Sambotta being one of the many epithets of Saraswati in Sanskrit. Yes, Sambhota is a Sanskrit word meaning the Noble Tibetan, said to be the honorific bestowed on him by his teachers or classmates while studying in India.
