Polynesian voyaging was done with planked vessels stitched with sennet from coconut fibre. The stitched material is replaced at regular intervals. Pandanus and breadfruit resin was used to seal the joints. On the atolls the planking was done as there was small quantities of timber resources. The development of double hulls enabled stable platforms, good loading capacity, liveable deck space and speed. The voyaging canoes covered vast distance across the Pacific in exploration. The journeys, names of the navigators, crews and the names of the hulls are still recited in many Polynesian groups such as with tribal groups in New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Tahiti and Hawaii to demonstrate their genealogy and right of ownership of the land. The reference text, 'Canoes of Oceania', Haddon & Hornell, Bishop Museum, Hawaii, gives styles and techniques. There are active voyaging societies in the Pacific building vaka (double hulled canoes) and teaching traditional navigation and retracing the ancient routes.

Indian sailors used cord sewn plank ships because these fared much better on the sea compared to nailed plank ships which tore apart with the pressure of the currents and waves. Plus the nails attract barnacles and even wood borers. This was actually a far superior ship building technique (any damaged planks could be changed easily without damaging the remaining planks) which survived along with the square 'Barcha' sails until the arrival of the Portuguese. After that the wooden ships were constructed with nails and Lateen sails.

STICHED SHIPS MOVE BETTER IN THE CONSTANTLY MOVING SEA LIKE A FISH 🐠, WITH THE WAVES THEMSELVES ALSO PROVIDING CONSTANT PROPULSION AND PUSH TO THE FLEXIBLE SHIP MAKING THE SHIP NOT BE WHOLLY DEPENDENT ON JUST THE SQUARE SAILS FOR THEIR PUSH AND SPEEDS BY THE WAY! THE SQUARE SAILS PRESCRIBED ON THE KIND OF SHIP BEING BUILT SHOULD NOT BE REDUCED AT ALL, CAUSE THOSE SAILS WERE NOT INSTALLED RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THAT SHIP BUT WERE INSTALLED ON MASTS WHICH WERE A LITTLE BIT ALWAYS OFF CENTER ON THE SHIP, EACH ON THE ALTERNATE SIDES, FOR BALANCE AND THUS BETTER HANDLING FOR THOSE MORE GENERIC SQUARE SAILS! AS THESE GUY'S ARE PLANNING TO REMOVE ONE WHOLE MAST AND SAIL FROM THEIR SHIP WHEN IN REALITY THE SHIP THEY ARE DESIGNING FROM HAD ORIGINALLY 2 MASTS AND SAILS INSTALLED OFF CENTER ON EACH SIDE OF IT! IT IS GOING TO UNNECESSARILY CHANGE DYNAMICS OF THE ACTUAL , OPTIMUM WAYS THOSE SHIPS WORKED AS WHEN PUT TO WATER ! 🙄😕

All the credits goes to tamil kings chera chola pandya, other than that north east west even kannadigas, telugus, malayalees from south not eligible to claim and not part of it. Other than tamil ppl all that i mentioned above are called indians/dravidians cause the forefathers are invaders like mughals, british,, french etc etc, so dnt manipulate the history by ditching tamil.

But as per our eminent alternate historians, Indians had long ago reached South America (presumably by sea and not by air). Sanjeev Sanyal however totally ignores it. That means he has very poor knowledge of maritime history. This video should be taken down
