As much as I love Buddy, Dave Weckl, Simon Philips and all the rest, this is still my favourite Drum solo after all these years. It has form and builds to a climax just like a good musical composition. Great to hear this version.

Living in Hong Kong at the time in 1962 and playing in my 1st band in 1963, I learned Little B at age 15 and performed it along with many Shadows songs and the Beatles entire Please Please Me album on Parlophone Records. We were probably the 1st band in the world at that time to be doing an entire set of Beatle songs starting in the summer of 1963, 8 months before The Beatles played the Ed Sullivan Show on Feb 9th, 1964 and just 3 months after their 1st record release on March 22 1963. Little B was always fun with the cool rhythmic themes he created to give it character. He pretty much played it the same way every time. At age 22, he was a drum phenomena with an incredible feel for the drums and groove. This will always be part of my musical history as I am still heavily committed to composing , teaching, playing, producing and publishing my own music with hundreds of new songs to record at this point in time. The Shadows were a great source of inspiration back then and continue to be while, Brian Bennett will always be held in the highest esteem for all he was and still is..

Brian is only 22 years of age here. Wauw very mature and musical excecution and great drumsolo and at such a young age. He was without a question one of englands greatest drummers at that time, the nr. 1 rock drummer without question. ********

It is because of BB and Little B that I became a drummer. Little B was also my first ever record. On that day I bought two 45 EPs. 'Little B' and 'I Saw Her Standing There' by the Beatles, my two first records

Brian Bennett turned percussive drums into an instrument with 'musicality.' There was a melody in there!

I think Brian Bennett was a much under-rated drummer being in the 'shadows' of the Shadows! This solo shows a maturity beyond his 22 years, with some great technique and dynamics. Cannot believe this recording is almost 60 years old! The sound quality is excellent for such an old recording. Thanks for sharing!

Magnifique. La base de tout les autres solos : the Mule Ian Paice / deep Purple, soul sacrifice Mike shrieve / Santana, par exemple.

Are you sure this is a real live recording? Sounds to me like the studio recording with audience noise added here and there...
