We need a hack to diy a homemade sloroller for a classic. I have a new classic 1 and a older Kettle Joe. I have cooked pork ribs more than a few times in the Kettle Joe. Just did some in the gen 1 classic and was greatly disappointed. Other than it used 1/3 the charcoal. It dried out the ends terribly. In my pellet grill I would elevate the ribs near the top of dome to prevent this. The kettle I never spritz just run 250 to 275 and never foil for steller results. I had a water pan under the classic ribs covering 3/4 the main center of the rack. Maybe I’ll try a smaller pan under each end. The meat temp was almost 30 degrees less in the center of the rack.

You can buy the slow roller separate I’m unsure if it would fit the classic 1 but it’s worth asking a stockist if it does

It fits the classic 1. I’d rather make my own

Really good video. Thank you. Personally I find very little difference between the two and I find when drippings hit the metal slo roller it creates a dirty burnt smoke. I don’t feel it is worth the 200 plus dollar investment

Thanks for comments and watching the video. Most of the time now I’ll put a foil tray with either beef broth or apple juice for the drippings. Have to say without it it didn’t impact flavour for me. It’s good to see other peoples views. I want to do more videos on it but it’s a lot of food just for me lol

Thanks for the great review. I'm having a hard time finding a Kamado Joe Classic 3 anywhere. I live in the states and have just been accumulating KJ accessories like the joetisserie 🤣

Thanks for watching Imran. It’s pretty much the same over here. There seems to be a shortage everywhere. Great for kamado joe always selling out but disappointing you you and others that are trying to get one. Over here last year the grills were getting delivered but thinks like cast iron grates and Joetisserie people were waiting months for. I guess things will level out soon. I hope you get yours soon. You will love it. Thanks again for your support.
