Seven is the most cosmic of time signatures. This is the most beautiful and inventive I've heard/seen it expressed - total freedom within the flowing structure...

Man i love Kamasi Washington, dudes such a kind charismatic guy, but fuck i lost it when he first started introductions... "Rono' Bonjinayyyh ohn druun"

it's crazy that kamasi can use all his licks in 7/8. i gained new respect.
@depauleable8 жыл бұрын
He "fakes" it sometimes by playing them in 8/8 and rushing slightly. Don't mean to discredit his solos in any way, but I've been analyzing the shit out of his improvs ever since the epic hit. What a virtuoso!

Phenomenal drummer, and Kamasi on his way to be the next John Coltrane - or just be himself. Wonderful music, a storm of fresh air on the scene !

I might be a rude barbarian, but the guy is the definition of overplaying for me. The solo was somewhat between 'meh' and 'are you done already?'

I like how he introduces the band names twice. Every show where I dont knw the band and cant hear the members when they announce it annoys me. Thank you kamasi!

@@SleepFan771 Dude, that family is fuckin insane. Dad played with gladys night, diana ross, the temptations. Jameel used to play keyboard on the internet. Thundercat plays a pretty dirty fuckin bass, especially considering the size he plays. And Ronald, a grammy nominated drummer, playing frequently with Kamasi. Fuckin' wew

How it is possible that a magnificent musician like Kamasi can share the stage with such bad singer? I apologise for my harsh comment but I think that there is an ocean between the two of them.

Greg C Didnt ruin it for me. Im sure considering all the people he plays with, he is just fine. Most people expect the drums to just sit in the back unheard.
