When you can't feel anything any more, when the end justifies the means, when all the old ships have long since sunk and there is just a dark spot that was your heart, something comes along that you know was always there. It just splits the sun and make you weep. It brings the dog star back to life, it confers you to ask a simple question ' am I not the river that this song sings, and if I am then, what to do? Simple; braid the magnificent, stall the fools errand with your touch, give that little bit that you know you have with what is free to give. Ravins pray for rain.

davincci tatchim "Traduction" I didn't know what that meant and looked it up; I am sure you mean the translation of the lyric(?) So no it's not, I have no idea what he is saying. I just wrote a stream of consciousness poem as the song played. Maybe in a way it is;-)...

Hi JRJ: don't know french, couldn't understand it, but your words and that music touch that dark spot that is my heart watching my mother waste away, and me on the fool's errand of trying to ease the way for her. Thank you.
@Oakleaf7009 жыл бұрын
+lakshmi narayan What you are doing, trying to ease the way for your ill Mother...that is no fools errand [if she has a physical illness]... but a wonderful thing. If your mother is ill for another reason, [alcoholism or something as destructive] than that is indeed a dark place for both of you. Our dad was dying, and I sat at the end of his garden on an april evening, in the dusk, and saw my younger brother through the window sitting with dad , with his arm around dad's shoulders, and the love that came off was like a golden glow. I knew I would remember that vision for ever- it was an exchange of pure love. Looking after a very sick family member is never easy-for either of you. Best wishes..

beautiful. and beautiful when two or more ethnicities of the one human race make music together and better yet live side by side. what i didn't like on the recording(not blaming uploader) is horn track should have been turned down in volume.
@americanidle12778 жыл бұрын
Ymous Anon I think they are using a simple means of recording, consider the location. The horn is very dynamic in nature, I do not agree with compressing dynamics, but I do believe the horn could have been reduced a couple decibels, especially when the chorus hit, you couldn't even hear the harp.
@MrWorldMusic1237 жыл бұрын
im glad someone said it. I agree. The volume of the horn, trumpet thing is a bit to loud. I wish people could make these sounds adjustable before uploading. Or maybe have a function in You Tube that with you could turn down or volume up each instrument. I love positive comments that make artists better. Those that record or transform files into playable files are kind of artists too. I always try to stay positive. But people don't appreciate good constructive feedback. So i rarely speak them out anymore. (People often tend to get rid of comments that sound negative in their ears. And bully them. While they tend to make gods out of the stars in the recordings. Extreme indeed. We're all humans and should be treated equal, also with the same respect. No real gods live among us.)
@MrWorldMusic1237 жыл бұрын
You could be right..... But this sounds like its made inside though. Just saying. The movie and the sound recording are 2 separate things in this video anyways. Thats really made clear in the first 4 seconds.

What is the clothes that a kora player wears?
@freedom_is_gold6747 Жыл бұрын
probably a bassin, a cloth that originated in Mali like 2000 years ago, as far as the style of the clothing you can find that more or less similiar variants across a lot of african countries and tribes.

@freedom_is_gold6747 Жыл бұрын
there still is seas and waterplaces in Mali, it could have been in the gambia or guinea bissau as well, this guy however seems to be singing in the Kaabu dialect of mande languages. so it could in theory be any of senegal , gambia and guinea bissau.
@freedom_is_gold6747 Жыл бұрын
however i saw on some of their other videos that said Cassamance that is in southern senegal, so i would assume thats where they are from and where this is filmed.
