One of their best songs. So inspiring!!! Me as a Christian can understand the struggles Ariel has. It's a song about our greatest questions about LIFE, actually about the afterlife. Although your faith could give you answers, its still pretty hard to understand. But I won't give up.

"We once again enter Ariel's troubled mind. He laments the afflictions with which humanity is chained. He wonders how such evil and misfortune came about as the result of his good intentions of finding the ultimate truth. He remarks on the insignificance of human life. Above all, he wishes that humans could live in a free and perfect world, but knows that it will never happen. And once again, he is tormented by his role in the death of Helena and the unborn child." - What this song is about.

I saw this song on a site a little while ago. Someone said it preaches atheism... but I don't see that at all. To me it feels like the song is saying expand your mind to more than just religion. There is a lot more out there that we don't understand...and can probably never understand.

BabakoSen Exactly, there's nothing wrong with preaching atheism. I agree with Rabid though, the song doesn't preach either religion nor atheism, it just tells you to open your mind to new things and posibilities.

I think the first couple of seasons of the anime bleach were inspired by this. And actually, if you think about it, the author has made characters with Rock and Roll inspired powers before. Grimmjow's zanpakuto is named "Pantera" and it's release command is "Grind" as in on a guitar?
@mike4life02 жыл бұрын
Didn't the story of the first few seasons of Bleach already exist at this time, though? I checked, and the manga was already 16 volumes in by the time this album released.
@AnimeShinigami132 жыл бұрын
@@mike4life0 I dunno, maybe a leak? Maybe they released a preview? hang on, I've got volume 17 right here... according to the inside cover, bleach was first released in Japan in 2001. *checks* the Black Halo was released in 2005. And it says on the inside cover of my copy of volume 17 that Bleach the anime was released in 2006. Well this is just... odd. I guess Kamelot ARE Bleach fans.

You guys seems to don't get the point of the music. Of course it tells the history of Ariel, but it's in fact a truly atheistic song. All the questions in the music are considerable for the ones who can't accept the simplicity of how society thinks. They cleary put in the lines the reasons that believe in a God is a contraditory thing. For exemple: "If it all fades to black, if I born once again? Then no one really is free. Here he basically says: If me, as a human die and all my life, my personal feelings is over, well. No one is free from life and your singularity as person doesn't matter for the reincarnation, you'll be lost anyway. "How could I be condenm for the things that I've done? If my itentions were good". Here he says: every person has his own truth, how could a person be condenm for doing what his personality says? Even a religious person can do bad things using the Bible as reference (How they did in the past). And for these persons, they are all right and faithfull to God" There are so much more, but I am lazy right now to tell al my ideias in a youtube comment, but the principal sentence obviously is: "How can we believe in Heaven? Human reasons counters it's all, Ideas of a Soul Society, our lives are just a fragment... Of the Universe and all, there must be more than we can see" The human society allready overcame the Religious dogma with all the knowlege produced in the past centuries, but refuses to accept the death as our end. The humans feels too much special as spicies and the song goes on questioning that feeling when he says "in the concept of time, we're like a grain in the sand" or "and we stribe for the flame, as if death was our aim cause we cannot understand". Then the humans not satisfact for being the only animal gifted with racionality, search to the irracional to explain the greatest thing that we'll never understand: death. Besides created a system to try to explaim it and make it as our "aim" for life. Interesting thing about the song that I always had with me, since 15teen when I allready used to philosofy about these things all the time, never couldn't scap from these questions and it wasn't induced about anyone since my parents and my neighboards are Christians. I always thought the same way "How I wish there was a heaven". It's too much confortable thinks this way, but I can't be so hopefull. Maybe someday I change my mind as Khan did. Who don't want to see their families again when they left us and all this over? But right now, I can't be that otimistic. Human reason counters it all, this ideia of a Soul Society. In all that big universe where: "we're a second in time, we're the last in the line of the preys that walks the earth good and evil combined" (Memento Mori) There's must be much more than we can see. After all I think I was not lazy at all, sorry for the big comment and thanks for read my conception of the world. Hope you who readed all of that take a lot productive questions by what you readed. Sorry if I wrote some sentence wrong, I am a Brazillian and my English is just average. knowlege is power, and peace! Cheers!

an artists inspiration is their own and even if they make a song and post it on the internet it is still their song. no matter what peoples interpretaionts of what he or she or they mean it is their interpretation and their understanding of what they mean that makes u question what they as a group mean. i love this song. " how can i be codemned for the things that i've done when my intentions where good?" if u have ever gone to great lengths for someone close to u or otherwise u would understand that phrase. human reason is y ppl dont believe in heaven. they cant see it. its a fact of life but u cant see the wind right? or the magnetic pull of the moon which controls the ocean. no matter what skepticks will arise nd ppl will make shit into fights cuz they want to. how bout we all agree to disagree nd just love music? i do but do u?
